To go back to watching forum posts, I know that Beathseda (morrowind) has a speical little option in there forum/proflie set up where you can 'watch' your post. So that when you log into your profile your favorite topics are right there and you can just click on them. I found it very useful. Privat eforum clubs? Isn't that what chapters are for?
