If the soda is refrigerated it's dumb to put ice in it, but if it's at room temp or warmer the ice is beneficial.
What I don't get is people getting ice in their drinks at restaurants whether fast food or otherwise. It takes up space in your cup, is pointless since the soda is almost always cold, and when the ice melts your drink tastes disgusting, worse than if it were just warm.
