Do you think that ancient humanity had the technology and knowledge to create its own set of halo rings as well as a couple of arks ?
I mean the book clearly states that they were stronger or equal to forerunners, so they can ?

Ancient humanity wouldn't need halo rings or an Ark, when they already had a cure for the Flood infection. But they probably could've with enough time and resources.
