Any Way to Boost Performance?

So there's this game that I like a lot. Tribes: Ascend. Unfortunately, the computer I use to play it is completely unable to handle it. Without any configs, it is absolutely unplayable. I don't even know what the framerate was. It was really, really low. So I look into configurations. With this config, it's much better, at generally 8-15 frames per second. However, it still drops to around six every so often or when certain things happen. Obviously, I'm not satisfied with this. So I try THIS horrible thing. To be honest, I'm glad it didn't work very well, as it's unbearably ugly for such a normally pretty game and even disables some sound effects. With the previous config, I would get 10-12 FPS just roaming an empty map, and with this I get 13-15. All in all, it's way too ugly of a configuration for such a small boost. Obviously, the plan's to get a better computer. However, at the time I don't have enough money to get a new one and won't for quite a while. So I'm looking for a temporary fix, on which I can play this game at an at least okay framerate on the first configuration. According to CanYouRUNIt, the problem lies in my video card and CPU (so just simply upgrading is not an option). Is there any way at all to give even a small boost to performance? TL;DR, Tribes can't run on my computer, can't get a new one, configs won't help, problem lies in my lacking video card and CPU, any way to boost performance?

 •
Posted by: Chaozhound No its easy. You just unplug it from the motherboard and can put a new one in that is compatible with your motherboard very easily.
Hmm, I'll look into it. Thanks.
