Yeah....
I wish Bungie didn't leave. Now 343i is trying to pander to the Call of Duty demographic.
So, thoughts?
Posted by: ajw34307 . . . it's emulating a feature which has been the norm for the FPS genere . . .
Not quite. Some FPS games do make use of it, but it is hardly the norm. Killcams (when considered as a unique feature, rather than a spectator mode) are a relatively recent addition to the genre. The majority of games that make use of this feature contain strong multi-player components (though some variation does occur, see Fallout 3 and New Vegas). To say the killcam is de rigueur to FPS design is incorrect, though it has seen broader implementation as of late.
I think you're an overreacting fool.
Oh, personal attacks. Always cool. Aren't we going for the forums being an environment where people can share their thoughts, instead of one where they are criticized for them?
Halo 4/CoD
I think many people loose sight of the fact that games are entertainment. If people enjoy the game, and had fun playing it, then it is successful (regardless of what we individually think about them). Since the debate of "Are video games art?" was started, it seems that many have lost sight of the 'game' element of 'video games'. [Edited on 09.22.2012 3:24 PM PDT]
