Now, where is your proof to say that she is still alive?[/quote] To be fair, the description is not going to say she's alive, it's just generalising events. At this point, we are led to believe she's dead - but the fact that we see her go into the Didact's suit, who then falls into slipspace, where Halsey speculated an AI could become an almost godlike being, could support the idea that Cortana is alive in some form. We know from the Epilogue that the DIdact is still alive, Cortana's actual fate is yet unknown.
