Know the feel OP. Most kids in my school who listen to Classic Rock are freaks, nerds, and weirdos.
Thing is it's not so black and white.
Everyone listen up, this is coming from a social (read: POPULAR) guy who knows about high school politics.
I'm taking a "History of Rock n Roll" class, elective. Most of the people in here are characters. What I mean is they're the anti-social freaks, don't shower, pale as hell, hate on the popular kids. Some are goth. Some of nerds, low self esteem.
Most people in HS who proudly wear Led Zeppelin shirts and things of that nature are usually weird. But it's not so cut and dry like I said...not so black and white
Yeah if you hate on new music don't be surprised when you don't have friends. I love old school rock n roll, but I love new music too. Dubstep, Trance, Rap, Hip Hop, Kanye West, Taylor Swift I LOVE ALL THAT -blam!-. This is coming from a cool guy who goes to parties and has 0 trouble talking to girls.
My interpretation is be able to connect with others.....so if you're talking to a cute softball player...and she looks like she listens to Rap, don't start talking about Mick Jagger cause shances are she don't know who the -blam!- he is. Don't be surprised when you discuss old school music to people like her, and get looks
However old school R&B, like Motown and those funk artists, everyone knows them.
Lot of my boys listen to old school rock and roll, and during practice we always listened to Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Zeppelin.
It's unfortunately the freaks who don't shower, and wear the same ACDC shirt everyday, who give honest guys like the OP a bad name[/quote]
