Sure, bumping is kind of an unfair way to get your thread to the top. But it bothers me when people get mad when I do it to my thread after waiting for a long time, or when it dies as soon as I make the thread. I mean, most of my threads took me alot of time to type up because I usually type up like 3 or 5 paragraphs of text, and then to see it just sink to the bottom pages of the forums in 5 seconds is rediculous. When that happens, I think I have the RIGHT to bump my topic.
Hey, here's a tip: Try typing up all of your ridiculous wall of text, copy/pasta it, and then "Create New Topic" again, and paste! Viola, a post at the top of the page.
So instead of just bumping my topic, you want me to make ANOTHER topic. That doesn't solve any problems. I would rather see someone bump their topic once or twice then make a NEW topic. I think that if someone's topic dies out quickly, do to so many topics being created all at once, then he should be able to bump the topic within reason. Sure, bumping your topic 3 times RIGHT after its created. But if I wait 20 minutes plus without getting any replies, I think that bumping the thread is reasonable.
Seriously man, do you really have to be an a-hole about this? Maybe you didn't intend to come across that way, but after reading your post, you really sounded like a dick. Please, stop trying to insult people.
