Is Halo 2 region locked?
I bought Halo 2 for pc brand new on Amazon. The description said it ships from the US and the picture of the game was the US version. When I finally got the game I found that they sent me a European copy. According to comments posted a few days after I ordered the game, Amazon is shipping out European copies to the US for some reason.
I've heard that a European activation code won't work on an American account. Another site said that the codes are region free though.
Does anybody know for a fact whether or not the game will work in the US?
EDIT: Just for future reference, the game was sealed and even had the Microsoft authenticity sticker like all 360 games do.

As far as I know, the game is region free along with every other PC game out there. Im sure someone will clarify this though. I'm assuming your CD key didn't work which is a common problem with Halo 2 and considering yours was a brand new copy...you just struck out bad luck. The best bit is that Microsoft won't give you a new key either. So you literally have to buy another copy. My advice would be get your money back if possible and either forget about the game or try again.
