Please, at the beginning of each post say if you're American or not.
I was inspired by a conversation I was having with Weird citizen. Here's the most recent exchange, to give you some ideas on what to say.
I don't know all the facts of the whole Bush-matter, but it was (and that's the least one can say about it) very weird how he got to win that election. Did you ever see Fahrenheit 9/11? I'm not saying everything in that documentary is true (never believe everything people tell you), but it posed some interesting viewing points (including about the election issue).
It's true that America has a bad name in the eyes of many, and therefor I think it's a good thing you seek point-of-views other than your neighbour's, there's always more than one way of seeing things. Sorry for the educator-talk, but it's rare these days to find open-minded Americans, the bigger part of the Americans is (as far as I can tell, and without excusing us Europeans from anything), due to no fault of their own mind you, under an extreme influence of the Bush-propaganda (it exists, as there exists propaganda of some form in any modern [or less modern] state). I have encountered many Americans who just don't want to see things from all the different angles, which ultimately leads to a very static and d/numb state of mind. So it's quite refreshing to meet someone like you.
Well I won't bore you with any more of this, but consider this my two cents on the subject =) If you should have any more questions feel free to ask and I'll answer to the best of my abilities (keep in mind though that I'm just another citizen who doesn't know all the facts and who is also affected by his own ideas and ideals).
That was a non-American viewpoint.
Weird citizen, would you post my reply here? I forgot to copy it.
