Why is this Brute so damn big?

2:22 shows chief manhandling a giant Brute.... Obviously in game they weren't that big, but did 343i take the size of that brute from canon/legends? I remember reading somewhere that the average Brute size was 14 feet tall... Seems about right in that video, though I find it hard to believe that humanity fought apes that big.
I don't remember which book, but there was a part where John took on a Brute his size and barely won, perhaps chieftains are just abnormally huge?

The Average size of a brute is 9 feet seeing as that is a chieftain he might be around 11 or so, which is within range. I am glad 343I finally did the sizes correctly so people understand how massive these aliens are to us. Next time you go to a department store (home depot) look for that giant measuring stick they normally have near the entrance and look up at 16 feet. that is about how tall the Didact is.

I was happy they made the Brute the right size in the prologue; at a rough comparison the Brute looks about 12 feet, practically Hunter size. Of course, it is a Chieftain so it's more plausible but still pretty huge for a Brute. Then again there was that elite called Xytan in GoO who was like 10 feet or something.

Nope, most of the Covenant races dwarf us in size. Even Grunts, the smallest of the them, are basically as large as we are, and even then, they are a hell of a lot stronger than we are.

So if anything, Grunts are probably around 4ft and above without armour.

It was made clear in Goo that the elites armor,hologram, and pedestal might have contributed to his size.

Brutes are generally 9 feet tall but chieftains are taller due to hormonal changes with being the top dog. So it is only 10 feet if 11 which isn't out of the normal. They are normally really tall. Chief is like 7 ft and that guy is about 4 above him, so 11 makes sense. The average for Brutes is 9', but you must consider that the "average" for people is like 5'7". It takes in all the ranges.

I'm so happy that 343 made the Brute look... Brutish. I was just pissed that I couldn't fight a true Brute, not those inbred roid-junkies who wore pottery on their heads on Reach...

If it's even close to that i will be happy, but it is his cutscene height that is canon in which he looks just about that size.

If Didact is around 15/16 feet in size, Chief shouldn't be that tall compared to him. I'm not entirely sure.
