Well so far (im in chapter 3) Glassman managed to do something with the Didact's gift (we dont kow what yet, thorne is missing and halsey is back in the brig, also she was talking with Jul Mdama aparently, who was using her for something.

I'm not sure who to empathise with right now... My gut says Halsey, as it's clear that she doesn't know she's talking to Jul, and even Lasky was a bit of a dick in this episode.

She's speaking to someone outside of his juristiction and possibly a hostile. The brig is probably just a cautionary measure.

But how did the essence of one of the composed people from New Phoenix get to Requiem? We'll they bring back the Didact that quickly?

inb4 Didact comes back saying 'I have returned.'

The composer is forerunner tech people. Slipspace is there world, The composed humans are likely sent to some sort of buffer system and stored for use as Prometheans.

The fact that Jul was the one chatting with Halsey has suprised me, was expecting it to be a Forerunner AI or the Librarian. About time that we have a Covie villian who outsmarts the UNSC. I doubt they will kill Thorne, knowing Jul he would probably use him as a hostage or more likely, take the MJOLNIR, examine it and use that tech for the Sangheili soliers. -blam!- is hitting the fan and something big is coming. @Thompsnow I hope it's the Didact as well, he's going to be pissed off after his defeat.

I love Jul, I thought his development in The Thursday War was by far the best thing Traviss has written since Human Weakness and he's a great antagonist. I certainly wasn't expecting him to be the one contacting Halsey, most of me is kind of hoping that the Covies get one over humanity and win this.
Yeah, I don't really fault him for having her moved to the brig, it's a decision that makes sense. Palmer though, she just really annoyed me this mission, "yeah, let's point a gun at the little old lady who's completely un-armed and can't do anything" -__- Spartan Ops is really starting to make me dislike Palmer. I want to like her, but the way they keep portraying her :/ Anyways...I've had enough of this Halsey hate-train, they need to seriously -blam!- drop that -blam!- already...
-
Tbf, we have started to see a party that offers some degree of understanding, or at least willing to not be antagonistic towards her. I think we'll be seeing some Palmer development. She's too hateful to not have some kind of turning point.

Now if only 343i would start developing missions that have something to do with the excellent cutscenes... [Edited on 12.03.2012 2:33 PM PST]
Posted by: car15 Now if only 343i would start developing missions that have something to do with the excellent cutscenes...
I seem to recall the last 2 missions being about finding Thorne. Just saying. Certainly not as good as the last 2 episodes, but the story is chugging along. Wasn't expecting it to be Jul contacting Halsey. I was expecting it to be an AI from the Assembly, for some reason. They seemed to have the inside scoop on a lot of stuff even pre-war, so it's not a stretch to think they know about Requiem. (Unless they're all gone now, and I'm pulling this out of my ass) I agree about the Halsey Hate thing (where 343 needs to drop it). But, I can kinda understand the Spartans' fear towards her; as far as they know, she might have some sort of MJOLNIR kill-switch, or something. All they know about her is that she's a war-criminal, and I'm sure ONI has painter her in a much darker light than she is. People have said that she's a "fall guy" for the Spartan Project, in the public eye. (And the Military's eyes too, it seems)
Posted by: nemesishunter7 But how did the essence of one of the composed people from New Phoenix get to Requiem?
