Xbox LIVE for all this weekend .. except Europe.
So Major Nelson announced this morning that from the 29th to the 2nd, Xbox LIVE features will be free to all users. My LIVE subscription recently ran out so I was pretty happy about this news.
I logged on to Halo 4 to play some matchmaking, and saw that I still couldn't access War Games. Then I read this a quote that listed most of the countries where LIVE is available to be included in this event, except Europe.
Now I'm annoyed...

[/quote] You don't even have to be a premium member to get free games. Phantasy Star Online 2 is going to be free to download and free to play for the PS Vita. Xbox Live does have some free games. But I don't consider arcade games like Happy Wars as actual games.

[/quote] PSN+ is basically Netflix for video games and subscriptions to it are increasing at Sony said like 275% a year. We shouldn't compare it to XBL though since they're really different products until Microsoft comes out with their own equivalent. XBL costs money because people will pay. Some people feel like Microsoft is strong arming them and ultimately frustrated at being trapped on the 360 since their options are pay the extortion money or be locked out. There are also just a lot of chumps that thinking paying to pay is good. I'd say Microsoft will be in hot water next generation since it's so easy to present a great alternative to Live. But we also have to remember it's Sony presenting that alternative and they could easily pull a Sony. [Edited on 11.30.2012 1:26 PM PST]

[/quote] Honestly I doubt that since it is well known to pretty much everyone for years that live costs money while online for other consoles doesn't. If you have a problem with it then it is either a money issue or you thinking you deserve something when you really don't. As for complaints about the dashboard I personally view people that complain about those things as ignorant at best. Be happy you have anything on the dashboard. As for comparing it to PS3's service it is free mainly to compete with Microsoft simple as that. Then regarding DLC the xbox actually does get a decent amount of it before the PS3 and if anything the PS3 screws over the developers far more than Microsoft.

Most countries included never had one of these weekends before, including Brazil, where I am. So I'll finally be able to create joke gamertags all day and go matchmaking, you all should feel happy for me and ignore all your problems.
