Halo 4 Terminals discussion (mini spoilers)

Well since there was no one thread about all the stuff in the terminals i thought i should make one. Thing I noticed: -Faber looks and sounds bad ass -Didact is ugly and got uglier -Didact also got more evil as time went by -Ancient humans were Red Indians??? -Lord Of admirals was stupid for not warning the forerunners -No mention of Born-Steller Didact -The forerunners are jerks Discuss

 • The lack of Bornstellar confuses matters more for me. Where did he go?

 •
Posted by: ferrrari -Lord Of admirals was stupid for not warning the forerunners
That would not have achieved anything, and would likely have been counter-productive given their belief in the Mantle and the bias towards saving their own kind.

The Bornstellar-Didact travels with the Librarian around the galaxy indexing species, and ends up firing the Rings.

The Bornstellar-Didact travels with the Librarian around the galaxy indexing species, and ends up firing the Rings.
I actually have to thank you a lot for that clarification, for the last few days I've been confused as to how the Didact was put into a Cryptum in Requium and yet also fired the rings. So for a summation I guess this works: Ur-Didact - The original Didact, leader of the Promethean rate. - Fought the Ancient Human Empire. - Exiled into a Cryptum on Erde-Tyrene following this war, eventually awoken by Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting. - Tried to use the Composer to transfer Forerunners/Humans into digital form and then back to biological form, creating the intellegent yet beastial Prometheans Knights. - Exiled into a Cryptum for the SECOND time, this time by the Librarian. Left in Requium, guarded by his own Knights to prevent his escape. - Awoken on Requiem, escaped and retrieved the Composer from Ivanoff Station near Installation 03. - Killed upon his ship (in Earth orbit) by SPARTAN-117. Bornstellar-Didact - Born long after the Ancient Humans were de-evolved. - Awoke the Ur-Didact the first time on Erde-Tyrene whilst he was still Bornstellar. - Bornstellar receives a brevet mutation from the Ur-Didact, eventually turning him into Bornstellar Didact. - Bornstellar-Didact fights the Flood in the Forerunner-Flood war; around this time, the Librarian puts the Ur-Didact into a Cryptum to prevent him creating the Promethean Knights from humans. -Bornstellar-Didact fires the Halo Array; presumably dies from this. If anyone knows if this is wrong in any part please say so, and hopefully the conundrum which is the Didact will make more sense. :P

The Ur-Didact was fully armoured when he fell into slipspace, he was clearly planning on going somewhere after building his army at Earth. Cortana seems to be inside his suit as well, so it's possible that Halsey's theory on AIs transcending rampancy when set up in slipspace could come into play in Halo 5. It also seems that humanity is still up against the Ur-Didact, as ONI are interrogating Chakas about him in the middle of an implied battle and Chakas states that humanity's conflict with the Didact is "combat eternal". As for the Bornstellar-Didact, he says that he shall begin the Great Journey after firing the Rings without the Librarian - presuming that she's about to die on Earth. I think the Great Journey is an exodus outside the galaxy to find the Precursors and get answers about the mysteries behind their creation and past (much like Shaw at the end of Prometheus).

(from GS343's comments in Combat Evolved though, I'd think he maybe fired the rings from 343's installation, but that could just be a memory of Chakas, or something else entirely)

 • 343 made a mistake by not setting up the forerunner trilogy to come out before halo 4. it would of cleared much up if they released the book first

Silentium is apparently full of Halo 4 spoilers, and will likely provide story threads leading into Halo 5. This is the first game in a trilogy, we're supposed to be asking questions...

 •
Posted by: ferrrari -Ancient humans were Red Indians???
lol, I was thinking about the same thing, Space-faring Indians. And I have questions: Does anyone know exactly how tall the Ancient Humans were? I wouldn't doubt if they were on par with most Forerunners. And I also find it pretty cool that they would have surpassed the Forerunners in time and how they would have taken the mantle. [Edited on 11.11.2012 12:52 PM PST]
