I can't change any one moment to bring me where I want to be. I figure the best thing I could have done to get me where I'd like to be is to have never made the choice to quit skating. A love for hockey would have served me well in my school years. Maybe I'd have her wearing my ring instead of his.

In 8th grade, I was dating the perfect girlfriend. We were watching a movie together, and at the end, we got up to leave, and at the door to the street, I held both of her hands... Wished her goodbye, and kissed her on the cheek. I should have done it on the lips, for I've yet to have the chance again, and she's forever in my heart. /romantic nostalgia

The only thing I wonder about is what would have happened if I'd taken my great uncle up on his offer to move to the Netherlands to try playing soccer professionally. I was already enrolled in post-secondary school and didn't want to waste my scholarships.

How a lady should be. American females are arrogant and complain all the time and cheat on you in secret. And then take your kids and half your money. American females grow up like females on TV. They like the show Desperate Housewives. Netherland females are kind and gentle and take care of kids and aren't -blam!-es. You missed out on a good chance, fool.

He'd watched a couple of games when I was 19 playing in the Men's league of my town. He said me and my brother were good enough to try out for pro teams in the Netherlands.
