The Mail Sack is here to save the day!

Let's open the Sack. As for the challenge, guessing at Bungie Lore won't be enough. We want to see your problem solving mojo. Team up if you will, but a winner is just a guesser without documentation of how they solved the puzzle.

Step 5: Ling Ling (ring ring?) I haven't read through everything so far. I'm kinda just jumping in and checking progress. But here is a link in case you missed out. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/7_Steps_to_World_Domination
Well yeah so in that case I have finally stated the complete way of getting to "Per audacia ad astra" and the complete order along with logic. qed I win again kind of however last week I got to it faster :P I was presumably the first person to put that all together? qed I win? idk... :P I should at least get bonus points for using qed in a sentence as TheMissingLink is a math major and qed is from math proofs :D lol kind of TheMissingLink did say that I was right about the 4 being the 7th Column in a PM so idk even though it does say that the sun on there. •
Posted by: SpecOps11 Anyone else still working? Any hints coming tonight? It would be nice to know if I can finally sleep
I've been thinking about it, and realistically, I think that one last hint would be very helpful. However, I do think that ML is not responding or giving hints because we are really close to piecing it together. Maybe we are just looking too hard into the path to "Per Audacia Ad Astra." Together, as a community, we can go into the stars. Good night.

 • HAHA, as much as I love that video (and secretly hoped that Banana Phone implied that this puzzle would reveal their collaboration with Raffi on their next game). He only posted that video to inform people who were not aware that the opening/catchy line in that song is the Ring, ring, ring, ring.... which is similar to Ling-Ling

 • I still think that this video contains some more clues.

As a result, the concept just took a little refinement to base it off of something else; actually putting it together took me... maybe two hours or so?
Hey David, would it be possible for you to create a puzzle which somehow is associated to your guy's next game (without giving anything away) and have it for a weekly challenge? Perhaps something like the geomancy symbols we received on Bungie Day? That would be so rad to pass the time.
Or another ilovebees! I was far too young to know about the first one but would love to take part in such an adventure. Although from what I know about arrival.bungie.org they could have hints/puzzles out already and people just haven't found them..... food for thought

 •
Posted by: SpecOps11 I think the puzzle is self contained this week. Its just using what you know about Bungie and general thoughts on the layout of the problem given.
It's a lot better than hexagons. *shudders*

 •
Posted by: T21095 Something interesting I noticed. In the Q&A section of the mail sack, someone had asked if DeeJ had played Halo 4. Look for the question, look at the response, and see if you notice something with what he answered and the pictures.
Too easy, he wouldn't throw hints out there. Only Missing Link would.

 •
Posted by: Unanimate Objec I feel like there's something in the picture that could help us, repetition if you will, but I haven't been able to crack it yet.
There may be some other pattern, but earlier while floundering around I noticed that the number of letters minus the number of numbers = the length of peraudaciaadastra. That is if there were a 1-to-1 cancellation between the numbers and the letters. But, even all of my attempts to draw lines from numbers to images I haven't found a method such that every number always cancels a single letter and end up with randoms left. Usually most/all of the phrase is left but still a few random characters too....

With the letters that were left over from earlier: ELTTMGWRE, I added the two extra letters I could link with the two extra numbers: D & F, making it ELTTMGWREDF. Maybe a word could be made out of it now.
Try an unscrambler. I've had little success with scramblers today.

 • Even if the proposed method doesn't generate something it could possibly be used later. These puzzles have been known to have multiple layers. And I feel like the numbers -> images is only the first.

It's pretty cool going back to look at where we were and where we are now.
Have the numbers been linked to letters in any way? 1=A, 2=B, etc. Maybe the 4 at the top of the septagon is the final letter.
You're welcome to try it. There have been many variations of where we are now, I'm just diagnosing and experimenting at the 'mo.
