The Floodiad, Part 9

Introduction: Nearly two years ago I began writing this poem. After numerous delays, vacations, and a fairly long hiatus, I've decided that I am going to take the thread up again and, perhaps, finish this tale. Most of the people who originally followed this story do not frequent this forum as much. It is highly recommended that anyone not yet familiar with the story start from the beginning. Disclaimer: All of the characters are based off of Flood members. Since this was started nearly two years ago, many of the characters may not be familiar to current Floodians. If you do not recognize the names, then do not worry about it. I cannot change the names now, and have no intention of rewriting the story for the purpose of switching outdated characters with ones that can now be recognized by all. Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 As daylight broke upon the field The camps began to stir, And neither side would seek to yield, For victory was sure. The Old Flood had, to aid its cause, Age and experience. But dwindling numbers gave them pause On seeing empty tents. The New were not swayed from their course, And marched out from their walls. More troops had come to reinforce And aid in the Old's fall. Rhea stood to the general's line, Her spear at the ready. Her armor gave a brilliant shine, Her chariot held steady. Accidentus fitted his bow And slowly pulled the string. Soon more New Flood soldiers would know His arrow's deadly sting. Harlow raised his sword o'er his head And gave a mighty cry. He thought of all the blood he'd shed, And those who would soon die. Guscon then returned Harlow's howl, Which echoed through the sky. For generals he'd stay on the prowl, To kill them all he'd try. Count Peter was next to step forth Into his chariot. He sought to fight to prove his worth. Of death he did care not. Sword and Scales spoke to his soldiers To give them more courage. He knew they could beat the fighters That they would soon engage. Sartor wielded a giant mace Which crashed into the ground. The monstrous look upon his face Brought fear to all around. Darcsyde stood in a stern silence, Waiting for the call to come. For then the battle would commence, And soon he could be done. Sniper McGee's wound had now healed, He was ready to fight. The New Flood army he did wield Proved his cause's true might. Blimper, who stood next to McGee, Cast a glance at his king. He knew not with whom to agree, Distrusted everything. Chosen to replace Rampancy, G English led his men. He knew that he must guarantee That this war would soon end. Another day of fighting come, Much blood would flow this day. The preparations had been done. And so begins the fray!
