The Official Thread of Swashbuckling Officialness and FAQ
[url=http://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/crimson-steam-pirates/id438053238?mt=8]Crimson: Steam Pirates[/url] is available at midnight in your time zone on 9/1. For now, it's iPad only.
You can grab the first eight voyages and two multiplayer pass and play scenarios for free (which is a fine price). If you like what you see, you can pick up eight more voyages for $1.99 (which is also a fine price).
The game was developed by a small team in Redmond, WA. You can check out their website, and a whole mess of Crimson back story at the link below.

The team is led by Jordan Weisman, who you might know through his other games, Crimson: Skies, MechWarrior, and Shadowrun, or through his work in the "Why So Serious?" Batman campaign, NIN's Year Zero, or I Love Bees for Halo 2.

In the FAQ, it mentions Facebook login. Is the only type of account you can create through Facebook? Also, will it send notifications automatically on my wall? Anyway, the game looks interesting, will probably get it on my iPad although it would be nice if it was for the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Additional clarification: all Facebook is used for is to identify you so we can find your stats for when you look them up on bungie.net. There is no integration with your Windows Live ID account or posting to your Facebook profile. So, from what I understand, this is the first game to be released with the aid of Bungie Aerospace? Now, is this to say that [i]all[/i] games published with the help of Aerospace are going to have their own forum?

What will likely happen is they will put the Crimson forums and any other Aerospace forums into an "Aerospace Forums" board. But I can't say for sure.
