I cant wait for the contest, ive got the perfect idea for an awesome slayer, swat, capt. flag, ect. map that im going to start working on tomorrow, why only USA though im in the Us but that still kindov bothers me, can me and a friend enter a map we made together? How do i enter my map? Im almost sure i wont win but i think it will be fun to have Bungie see some of my best work i just hope they like it and who knows i might stand a chance of being one of the winners! I hope i win, and best of luck to all you other forgers, thanks bungie.

how in the world do you make a comment? I don't see any comment boxes so sorry for acting like a noob but I had to reply to your comment. Can anyone get over the fact that I don't know this simple thing and help me out?

What kind of prize?
-
Actually I've had a better idea. Keep the x downloads but have the maps checked by bungie staff to make sure they're playable maps. Also im in too

if you would put them in matchmaking upon X downloads.. then you'd get art too.. like a giant spartan made in forge or something.. [Edited on 10.17.2010 12:30 PM PDT]

how do you add a "-" in your tags? seems impossible to me..

This blows. I saw this and started building a map and have just finished it spending god knows how long building it. Then I find the competition is for U.S only. I'd like to see a competition for the rest of the world. I don't care about the new shiny xbox etc but I'd like to win and think I've added something to the game. A better idea would be to put maps into matchmaking that get above a set download marker. For example 20,000 downloads means that the map is put onto matchmaking.

If I submit a map, can I retract the old submission and replace it with an updated version?
-

like so many have already said, i am VERY disappointed that this competition is US only!!!! i have been looking forward to this competition since i read about it in one of the early posts by urk! Then I finally see this announcement that the competition has started an I read half of the rules and find out that it is US only!!! couldn't you have put that at the beginning!? as i said im very disappointed that bungie doesn't let all us fans from outside the US, which is a large part of the fan base, take part in this epic challenge!!! hope bungie creates a worldwide competition because there are halo fans ALL over the world who long for the opportunity to show bungie what we have created and maybe have our work be apart of the awesomeness that is halo!!!

Im in Canada, can I still submit entries or is your northern neighbor to far away to count?
Posted by: Sketch Make an awesome Forge map, win a prize! click for full story
...but can we submit two? Everything hints at one per person but nowhere does it say you can't submit two (or more). . And there seems to be a problem with saving map variants in Forge and them reverting back to an earlier state with hours of work being lost. I detail it a little more here. Answers? Fixes? Peace.

What if my Invasion map requires a custom Invasion gametype? Is it no longer eligible or do I just need to add it to the submisson set within my file share?

Oh. My. God. Forge hear I come. I'll probaly fail though. I'm not that good* *Iiiii Suuuuuccckk
-
So, people in Canada are ineligible? This would make me very sad face :(. I mean I know I don't have the skills to win, but I'd like to say I at least tried...
-
Shame, I live in Canada :( It's funny because I'm 5 minutes away from the US border too. :\

As I understand the rules, there will be one grand prize winner in each category, but potentially many winners in each category whose maps may make it to match making. There could be 15 new maps on match making as a result of this one contest. Am I correct?
-
Is it not possible to extend this contest to Australian residents?
-
Great idea but i think that its a bit lame that the british cant compete as i would of loved to enter this i know fair reason u dont wanna have to pay the shipping cost but u could just make it an in game prize say 20000000 credits winners only armour or effect i mean there is great possibilities but as most people understand your a company that might not have the time to pick through each entry so afte this contest maybe a british only contest now thats what i would call great customer service as us british actually like the game to and would like oportunities like this so please listen to reasoning and make something available for us
-
I'm disappointed as well. Why not include EU? We buy quite a lot of copies of your games here as well, Bungie...
-
what!? you have to be in states?....lame.
