  • My infection map does not work with the gametype i made. i made 8 red starting spawns for humans and 8 blue spawns as well as blue starting spawns for infected. All of witch set to INF_SPAWN. The infected spawn in a soft kill zone though so when they spawn the will move into the map.

  • Ok working on a nice Invasion map... just a few questions regarding general stuff. 1. When I place a backfield spawn, how do I set it so a team cant spawn there before Phase X? 2. Can I set Shades and teleporters to zone in on phase X? 3. I have noticed when a guest destroys a a hog / tank / anything like that, when it respawns, it respawns twice i.e. tanks making love... its odd to say the least. Any idea why / if this happens in gameplay. 4.How do i make ghosts despawn? (dont need them for my spartan team) EDIT: Cleaned the text up [Edited on 10.09.2010 6:45 PM PDT]

  • Is it Possible to create soft kill volumes to be team Specific? Im trying to set an area in infection so humans cant leave an area that zombies occupy and vise versa

  • I'm making a forge map now and thought i'd like to play test it with several people on different xboxes. Only problem is i can't.. My friends on different xboxes aren't allowed to play it with me.. Is there something i can do to fix that? They have downloaded the excact version of the map that i'm trying to play.

  • Thank you for all of this great info! However, I have a Forge issue that I don't think has come up yet. I have, with the help of these posts, finished my map and everything works, no problem. Unfortunately, it is telling me that my map description is "bad" and as a result I cannot upload to my file share. Title: "ONI Xenological Site #27: Derelict Orbital Elevator" Description: "From the flooded ground station to the atrium in high orbit, fight for control of this ancient alien structure. ALL gametypes." I can't see anything in that which would get it blocked. Is there a list available somewhere of unacceptable keywords or something? Or is this a bug of some kind? Thanks!

  • Hello, I'm having trouble with using killzones on my map. I'm using 11 different ones in Forge World for a race map, in particular for people falling off the plateaus since I don't want them to end up on another part of the track by accident. Unfortunately for some reason I can fall through them during what seems to be random times. One time it kills me, another it won't. So far I've set the killzones to map specific for race, put min spawn to 11, and spawn time to 1 second with place at start = true. This has taken care of most of problems, but not all. Is there a trick I'm missing? Do I need to make sure that the player is totally encompassed by the killzone at any given time (such as not using a thickness of say .1)? That is my main problem, but as a side comment, I was wondering if Bungie would consider tweaking race alittle so you can have one-person teams so you can have color specific hill markers. That way you could have staggered starting positions on a closed circuit with each player having their own checkpoints. Thanks for any help you can give, Ien2222

  • Maybe you all knew this, but I just discovered (and it saved me a lot of blocks) that an object can be spawned or not based only upon the game type being a symmetrical or asymmetrical game, and it covers all game categories. My map is symmetrical except for one wall, which is now closed for symmetrical games - to make the game fair. For asymmetrical games, the wall is missing making a back entrance available in a natural scene.

Make sure you didn't make them gametype specific.

  • You have to set the bomb markers for the specific teams and I think include a "neutral" bomb marker. Then, in your custom game, specify whether it's one bomb or two, or neutral, or whatever.

  • Hey, I have a problem with my assault map. I have the bomb goal, bomb start, and teams, but when I start it up, there is no bomb at the bomb start. It's nowhere to be found on the map.

  • I have run into a bug during a Rally gametype. I forged a level, and placed Rally points. During a custom game of Rally on this level, a "Mystery Hill" appears. It hovers 15 meters above the ground where nobody is able to get to it. So I am forced to end the game prematurely. When I go into forge there is nothing there. At first I thought I accidently marked a starting teams camera as a hill. When I looked the camera was further away than that area and there was nothing there. Is this something that I have somehow done, or is it a glitch in the gametype? It would be nice to have it included sometime in a future patch, but at least we can go this route to get it...and I assume any other gametypes that you make in the future that aren't initially available to the community but playable online can be gotten this way as well. Maybe I should try this on my own before bringing it up, but since I won't have access to play for the next couple of days I'll go for it. So, if I do save rocket race from recent games list, I'm pretty much getting a Rally with teams enabled? Or are there other options that were enabled that also aren't available to us. I really haven't looked deeply into the rally options (and I'm away right now so won't get a chance to soon), so I'm not sure if "time limit to get back on mongoose" or "invincible UNLESS you are off of mongoose" are options that we currently have. Sorry, this is a forge thread and I'm getting into custom game options. But appreciate the info and will be back if I have any more questions about FORGE.

And I'm sure that Spawn Sequence does absolutely nothing for some types of objects, which are they?   • I had a question about Infection and Headhunter gametypes. I've got all the required items, but it still says "incompatable". I was wondering if this was due to the fact that I've got vehicles on the map?
