Halo 2, Xbox LIVE and You
Microsoft announced today that Xbox LIVE support for original Xbox games will be discontinued on April 15, 2010.

Halo 2 was the funnest xbox live game I ever played in my life 5 years ago. Big team battle ranked was the funnest experience ever. Way more fun than halo 3, man that rank system was sooo sweet and so fun, it was way more serious to take a win or a loss. =(

Halo 2 was that one game .... the game that surpassed all others .... the game that revolutionized gaming .... the game that could be played for a millenia and still not played to the fullest .... april 15th will truly be a dark day for gaming.

Wow i just recently got live after all these years of lan and splitscreen finally the world of online but nope microsoft now i know why there are so many haters out there and everyone converts to ps3 cause u r basterds and u treat the fans like -blam!- by doing stupid senseless -blam!- like this of course u dont give a -blam!- ur a multi billion dollar company..f u c k the fans right? and f u c k bungie too eh? after they put ur ass on the map, i cant express my hate for -blam!-soft seriously im a hardcore halo fan, never liked -blam!-soft halo was my only reason for owning a xbox and now people like me hate u more.

Wow are you kidding me, Halo 2 has the best online multiplayer of ALL-time, the only reason anyone buys Xbox subscriptions anymore is to play sub-par games like Halo 3/Cod trying to feed their addictions that they got from playing, you guessed it, Halo 2 ! I'm actually really upset by this, Halo 2 is my happy place, the good friend that I can always go back to when I'm fed up of playing with whining 11 year olds who whore rockets. In a long line of poor moves bungie/XBL has made this is the worst, way to go, you just lost a true fan.

Very uncool and totally unnecessary for M$ to do this. Why kill off the one of greatest multilayer experiences on a console?? How much could it possible cost to maintain considering that there is no dedicated server. Anyway, with the way Halo 2 vista turned out it is 100% clear neither MS nor Bungie really give a damn about the game that made them who they are today. Still, this is complete garbage. 100% bull-blam!-

So will we eventually get friends lists over 100? I was under the impression that we didn't get this due to legacy games.

Maybe if enough people log back onto Halo 2 for these next two months, they will be so overwhelmed, that they won't do it! Or it'll just humor them a bit. I'm just pissed off I can't download the maps. It needs to get fixed ASAP!

Man, I can't believe it's been 5 years. The whole reason I got a xbox live account was for Halo 2. I guess I'll have to spend the next couple months getting my last Halo 2 fix.

So many good memories with Halo 2, I might actually shed a tear before it's shutdown. I love Halo 3, but I've had no where near as good times as Halo 2. Goodbye Halo 2, you will be surely missed. If possible Bungie, do you think that you can add a new playlist to Halo 2 matchmaking before the plug is pulled? Like bringing back all the launch date playlists, even head to head. (Stupid I know but still)

So there is a problem. I can't play matchmaking because it says my maps that I've had downloaded are damage, so when I go to download them they are all gone. So unless the maps are put back up I can't play in any playlists at all.

Son of a... I'm expecting we'll see a lawsuit here. I'll sign any petition you guys can find. I'd make one myself, but I'd quickly make it to the point of "How do I shot web?" and give up.
