Halo 2, Xbox LIVE and You
Microsoft announced today that Xbox LIVE support for original Xbox games will be discontinued on April 15, 2010.

i'm probably a bit late but yep microsoft are being evil by taking something down that was extremely popular, if i had sold my xbox original then i would not have been able to play halo 3+ so it is unfair to those gamers, to me

Shutting servers down without me knowing + Not ever playing halo 2 matchmaking = The beast that will press the button to bring all servers for the xbox original online!!!!11!!!1!!!!! MICROSOFT!!!!! WHYYYY??!?!?!?!? I found out today, 2 days before I was gonna get halo 2 and play my butt off. Some people like Halo 2. Some people even like halo 1. Since they shut the servers down, I will never live the experience people are talking about. It makes me sad that all these people are sitting at their computers screaming. BRING THE SERVERS ONLINE!!!!! Dx Don't be an ass microsoft!!! Keep your gamers happy. :(

It makes me sad. I dont own a Xbox 360, nor can I really afford one. I will probably never play with some of my friends online again. I had so many awesome experiences with Halo 2. Some WTF moments. Some angry moments. Most of all, its just so much fun to play. The only reason I got Xbox live was to play Halo 2. Now its gone.

Ah -blam!-e! I don't think I can handle this! In all this excitement and confusion about the reach beta, me trying to find out what's really going on, the only thing really hits me is this, and ice cold pain in my stomach. [Break] I saw the video of all the good times you guys had with your friends in halo 2, all the secret places, and I really wish I could've had those moments. You see, when I first got halo 2 I didn't have live, so me and my friend really couldn't do all that, but when I got live my best friend didn't have his game any more, so we really couldn't play. No big deal, I could just wait until he gets it again, can I? No. Please bungie, I beg of you to make and online version of halo 2 and 1 for arcade. Just make it like the mythic disk that came with ODST except for arcade. And don't want new HD graphics or anything like that. We just want good, old halo. :.( Ah screw it! Put the campaign in there, for we all have those little moments in the campaign too! I shall always have those childhood halo memories in my heart, but we shall always burn our souls to relive them!

this makes me so sad I now feel like a part of me is lost but is there anything you can do and halo 2 will always be a part of me bungie has taken over my life I have since the 3rd grade when I bought halo 1 for the PC and then bought an Xbox just for halo2 and then a 360 just halo3 and then I find out I can't even go on halo3 after april 15th this makes me depressed I just hope microsoft never cancels halo 3 servers

so does this mean that i can't play halo and halo 2 at all on my xbox 360? or just online (halo 2), either way, that sucks :/

Yeah, what's up with the DLC? I have the map pack disk and tried reinstalling the maps when it said something was corrupted; but it still wouldn't let me play online. If the service is supposed to be live through April 14th, then why can't I refresh my maps? Without the maps, we cannot play in the playlists. I want to play some Halo2 before they shut it all down; please do something to remedy this problem! -belcaw

Im all for re realeasing the halo 1 and halo 2 multiplayer as an arcade download. This would be good because the graphics could be uprezed. I wouldn't mind a 1600 points for a good multiplayer system. I think I speak for everybody when I say halo 2 multiplayer was such a part of me early on in xbox live that I really want to keep it in someway shape or form playable. Money is no object halo must stay.

IF they put it 360 then they wouldn't change the graphics. If they did anything they would take out glitches becuase the glitches are mistakes and they would want to remove the glitches. Just say good night to H2 and let die and honarable death. And guess what, you can still fun playing H3 and ODST!! Lots less buggy.

Hell Yeah man I'm with you on that Re-Releasing Halo 2 for the 360 Would be GREAT better graphics hell maybe a few new features with the glitches patched then we could continue having fun. [Edited on 02.08.2010 11:03 PM PST]
