EDIT: Reason i haven't put it in offtopic is because i'm on about their games. Most games they bring out all have school girls.

You're probably looking at the dating simulator games, which all tend to be based in school.

School is a pivotal time in their life. Most are pressured to further their education. But some can choose to finish earlier with school to take over the family business. Their schooling is also structured much differently then ours. It's pretty common that janitors are not a job position. Because the kids pitch in and clean the school. This also ties into why young people are so fascinating. This in their culture is the time when major things happen. When their life is shaping. Where as here in America are life isn't considered to start or be really even important till after we are considered adults and have already graduated. Japan is also more open about general sex then America is. So basically it's because of their culture. Don't judge them on it. American culture isn't exactly the greatest either.

Japan, that's why.
-
Cause Anime is weird.

I just guessing but I think it's due to the fact that a lot of female characters in Japanese games are usually fairly young and I think they have a certain respect for knowledge. So they pick the schoolgirl look for them to appear as a strong intelligent female. it's just a guess remember(it would make sense though)

Japanese are strangely sexual people... They inject everything with sexuality... And doing that with a schoolgirl is the epitome of desecrating something that's supposed to be pure and innocent...Basically they give her huge tits
-
Those are the dating sims and stuff. Also, most dating sims of all kind suck.

Based on the amount of skirts ive seen in their media, i got to the assumption that they dont really like girls to wear pants. Why? I dont know.
-
What part of girls looking like they're 12 isn't hot? Especially japanese girls!

Edited by SpheredBug4091: 2/14/2016 11:11:37 AMSo never being to japan what i can gather is that every girl is 7 years old and are always just pausing and heavily breathing and creepily over sexualized and every guy is aether a pedophile a monster or a hunky 17 year old with abs and every one has really stupid imposable to control weapons the size of cars and everyone freaks out all the time over every thing ps not a weaboo i dont watch anime this is all from making fun of what my sister is watching

I think it is because the Japanese concept of femininity is youthful, hard working and cheerful. I've heard that the Japanese obsession with schoolgirls isn't really sexual in nature, though.
-
Im going with the guy talking about knee socks and mini skirts.
-
Honestly they pervs man
-
Hentai.

It's their Culture. I think they obsessed with youth because(if not mistaken) they have a very strong work ethic there. Which may start early on in HighSchool. Thu's the infatuation with youth...You see what their porn is,and their anime's are often about 14/15 years olds.(appearing 18-20 though) Then in the event someone who's actually grown appears in whatever, they are often called old.

Edited by Tobito_TheGod: 2/13/2016 10:05:09 PMKnee socks and short skirts. It's like saying why do men in the US like women in sun dresses? Sun Dress booty mane. Edit: oh you're talking about games... yeah im not sure

Edited by Barbatos: 2/14/2016 2:26:38 AMBased on my own research it comes down to culture. Their middle and high school years can be compared to our college years, assuming you're American. College is the last chance to be a kid and have a somewhat carefree life. In Japan, this is middle and high school. Granted, this period in their lives is much more stressful than in ours. The stress of education has had a negative impact on Japanese youth with it being the #1 cause of youth suicides, at least according to one recent study I read. Afterwards, society places a greater focus on work, family and tradition. Plus, gaming, anime and other aspects of pop culture is geared towards youth.

A certain ninche of japanese games, cause the majority of games are japanese anyway. It's really weird for me, specially cause the girls look very young, I wonder what girl gamers think of that.
-
Because that's what they are
-
Idk man

because they are messed up
-
You better not say anything bad about my waifu.

Edited by Kankunation: 2/13/2016 5:10:39 PMIt's a cultural thing. Both male and female students of nearly every school in the country wear a military-based uniform that has been altered over the years. The girl's sailor suit became very popular very fast when every school started to use them. The suit became associated with youth in general, and youth is always an attractive concept for everyone. And honestly, as far as uniforms go, the sailor suit has always been one of the more attractive ones. Its more revealing than the polo shirts worn in the US or the blazers worn in britain. They became epecially attractive when Girls started wearing shorter skirts and reached the peak of their maturity. Considering the peak audience for most anime and manga is around 15-20 years old, they can and often do oversexualize the uniforms, and girls in them, for male appeal. Fanservice sells well to people that age. Most anime and manga take a place in a school setting, so schoolgirls are commonplace. That's a short explanation at least. It's not really an obsession, so much as it is reality. Though the uniform can be associated with schoolgirls, it is still it's own entity in Japanese media.

I've played my share of Japanese games, and even I'll admit that japs are bloody weird
-
I dont and never will understand Japanese people.
-
That's a good question, even in the upcoming Street Fighter 5. A schoolgirl is one of the most OP characters in game.
