PvE/PvP Event - Faction Wars!

It's no secret that the Factions of Destiny (Future War Cult, Dead Orbit, and New Monarchy) do not get along. They seem to be consistently at each other's throats about what's best for the people of the City, it's Guardians, and the Light. Well, now it has finally come to a head. Angrily, each Faction leader swore that the Guardians representing them were the best. Now, it's up to you to prove who's right! Welcome to the Faction Wars! How do I participate? Simple! All you have to do is choose your allegiance with a Faction, and then it will begin. Each faction will have a points bar (kept track of by visiting their representatives) that keep track of how Guardians are doing in their representations of them. Each day, a Guardian will be able to earn a maximum of 8,000 reputation for their Faction's war effort (this will be counted aside from standard reputation gains). Reputation can be gained from participating in either the Crucible or during Patrols and Missions. During the event, certain high-leveled enemies (Majors, Ultras from Strikes, and ultimately Raid bosses/Ultras) will drop an item (Orb of Darkness). Bringing these Orbs to their chosen Faction leader wil grant them a chunk of reputation for the war effort dependant on what dropped the orb. Thus, they are labeled accordingly. "Orb of Darkness (Major)" - Grants 250 Reputation "Orb of Darkness (Ultra)" - Grants 500 Reputation "Orb of Darkness (Raid)" - Grants 1000 Reputation Additionally, Raid Orbs can only be found once per raid, from the final boss encountered. Hence, Atheon drops one Orb, Oryx drops one Orb, Crota drops one Orb, and Skolas drops one Orb. Hopefully, this will inspire players to revisit old content. The orbs are non-transferable. Raids can be done for Orbs each day if a player so chooses. Strike Ultras may only drop one Orb per day (The Dust Palace will drop 1 orb total, despite having three Ultras). A total of 4 Major Orbs can be obtained in a single day. Strikes will also naturally give 100 reputation for completion to the Guardian's faction. Other Ultras (Ultra Knight, Taken Zealots, etc) have a 25% chance of dropping an Orb that will not be included in your Ultra orb count. Guardians will also be able to gain reputation in the form of various bounties. These may range from killing a certain amount of Guardians of an opposing faction in the Crucible, to completing Patrol missions, or anything in between. Guardians who fare better in the Crucible will also be fighting for their factions, with each winning match granting 250 reputation and each losing match earning 100 reputation. Teamwork bonus - In the Crucible and in Strikes/Raids, for every member of the fireteam present that is in your own Faction, you will gain an additional 50 reputation for completion. Hence, a full fireteam of 6 sporting Dead Orbit allegiance will earn a Guardian 500 reputation for a victory. Wearing faction class armor will also increase your reputation by 50 for completions (100 if a Guardian is wearing the exotic version of the class item). What are the rewards? Each faction will have their own unique rewards, granted when a player maxes out their reputation gains for the day. The representative will hand over a Faction War Package, which can contain new faction-specific gear of up to 320 Light, including Ghosts. New weapons, class items and Ghosts will also be available, rising up to 320 Light as well. As incentive, it is guaranteed that all gear found will at least exceed 295 Light. Guardians may also find new ships, sparrows, shaders, Motes of Light, Strange Coins, and Nightfall-tier rewards in their packages, in addition to the the Faction-specific item. In the first week, only armour will be available; during the second week, the pool will include Ghosts and Weapons. Any orbs or bounties leftover after the 2 week event can be converted into normal reputation for the player's faction, equivalent to what it would have given during the event. Materials can also be used to donate to the faction's war effort during the event, up to a maximum of 1000 reputation a day. I hope you guys like this idea, let's get a lot of support so we can keep the PvE community alive without excluding anyone! EDIT: A friend suggested that an option be given for those who don't like the factions. I'm thinking something with the Speaker. Ideas?
