I'm an old fart and Destiny has never made sense to me from a business perspective. They don't have advertising revenue nor monthly dues. People freak out about the Everse stuff and so here is my question.
Businesses exist to make money. I'm pretty sure you kids don't show up to Starbucks for work just because you like coffee. That being said, I'd personally like non-stop new content. How many of you would pay for it? Am I really that out of touch being willing to pay just because I'm old and a few bucks a month isn't much to me?
Lets say one new strike per month & one raid every 4 months?

No. They need to regain out trust first. I will not blindly through money at them every month until they proved its worth it

I will never pay a seperate monthly fee for a console game. That shit is for pc players. I already pay $40/yr for ps plus, and $50/yr for xbox live. That should cover the ability to play any games for those consoles. Now, if dlc comes up for a game i like, then i will spend extra once or twice a year, but never a subscription.

Edited by joey big guns: 2/12/2016 3:43:48 AMNo. They have already shown us that they can't even deliver us a solid dlc and you want to pay them monthly to fail??? You need to lay of the synthetic weed my friend, your noodle is cooked.
-
Other companies, yes. Bungie, no.
-
I too am an old fart. A few bucks isn't much to me either, but I would prefer large DLC chunks that I'd certainly pay money for as opposed to these "events". Also I dislike micro-transactions.
-
No way I have put enough money into this game. I can't let myself pay an annual fee, that is crazy
-
They couldn't even make a good enough raid to keep in the HoW DLC, you expect them to come out with new ones on a set schedule?
-
XD lmao, I needed this. I've had a bad week. Destiny xD subscription xD
-
i dont think they could keep the promise
-
A game should be great out of the case, not have to have constant DLC to make it great. DLC should enhance the main game.
-
$5 a month? Hell no. With all these emotes they're selling, they should be putting out free DLC content. As of right now, they're making bank off of these emotes with their silver business and not having to release any substantial content. I wish people would see what they're doing and quit buying dance moves.

It's funny how many people have paid around $140 or less, played the game for over a 1,000 hours and feel they're entitled to additional content without paying or that they were somehow cheated in some way. For me this game has surpassed Skyrim in the dollars spent vs hours played and that's insane. Simply put Destiny is the best value of any game I've ever played.
-
I refuse to pay till I see why to... With the history of how bungie failed to fulfill promises in the past at the cost of my pay... I rather spend my check on other companies that actually care on making the game nice instead of nerfing things just because a child whines how they don't have a weapon and everyone else does. No, I won't pay for something that won't happen.

"This months new strike is Sepiks Prime in reverse with an archon priest as the boss. Stay subscribed next month to get Archon Priest revered with a prime servitor boss"
-
Honestly I wouldn't trust Bungie enough. I don't want to pay $10 for sub par content, especially if it was laced with PS exclusives
-
For consistent good content, Yes. But the content drops would have to include expansion of the loot table while maintaining the entire loot table. But for the record, to date, nothing that Bungie has put into this title invokes confidence that they could meet that pace with any sense of continuity nor acceptable quality. From the .04% to fusion rifles to lack of vision to the flaws of special ammo as just recent problems.
-
I Pay 13$ for an FF:XIV Most people renew their SUBs when new content drops ,meaning that you can stop paying until new dlc drops In destiny I would mind the 10$ SUB but I don't think many people would like to play a first person shooter that is SUB based and has a weak RPG aspect.
-
What the fuck is wrong with you......
-
If we didn't already pay $120+ already, maybe I wouldn't mind. But if we're getting the same level of "content" as now, I wouldn't even consider it.
-
If like other subscription based games Bungie added regular content, I would happily pay for it. I would however also expect stability, and dedicated servers for paying monthly or annually. I don't have a problem with the amount of content Destiny has right now, my only problem is with stability.
-
I wouldn't pay if: 1 - Bungie nerfs Mida 2 - Bungie doesn't fix the shit loot drop system in play (320 ghosts... Really. What a sham! you people will do anything to keep people playing even when there is an extreme lack of content. Well a damn ghost shell that DOES NOTHING will not keep people playing. 3 - they don't GIVE US 2 MORE RAIDS BEFORE DESTINY 2 (House of wolves is crap, so give us the one yall owe us for that lame arena as the one we were "supposedly" promised at the beginning of vanilla.) You got three huge issues of mine bungie. Your lack of brains when it comes to weapon changes. The idiotic loot system. And your everlasting lack of content by which you always promise your customers. If I read (in the future) how there is all this content in destiny 2 and it looks like a replay of how "great" this game was supposed to be. I guarentee you will lose half of your customer base like myself. Fix your loot. Dont Nerf the MIDA. Give us raids. Or I quit your crappy evergrowing money scheme. This game is a sham. That's why it's 15$ at GameStop. They know it's crappy too
Lets say one new strike per month & one raid every 4 months?
New strike a month wouldn't happen! That would mean to much programming, and all they have shown is regurgitated materials. Now add one raid every 4 months, well it was almost that, but it ended up costing us more than $10 a month; then too, the maps were already made and they only had to populate them. I'm an old fart too, but my disposable income is limited, and they have "Taken" plenty without holding up their end. The basically lied to us about what we were going to get from them.

If you think the phrase, "Businesses exist to make money", Adequately sums up businesses.... Then you know absolutely nothing about businesses. And then comparing Destiny to Starbucks.......jeese old-timer, things are a little more complicated then that.
-
I see them selling 3-4 pvp maps $24.99 :(
-
Nope, they come out with emotes every month and PvP events. They got the money to make strikes
-
They are making scads of money. Money isn't the issue. It is a complete lack of direction.
