I remember when bungie was all over the side arm addition to the TTK. Hell, the first mission when you kill that one big knight he drops a sidearm. Basically introducing it to everyone, giving them a chance to try it out early into the DLC. Personally I haven't used it at all, I mostly found that a shotgun, sniper, or a fusion rifle to be more reliable. I even hardly see it in Crucible from my experience. So have yall had the same experience with the sidearms? Or have you been using them to their full potential?
