Black Spindle - The In Depth Strategy That Gave 21 Guardians their Very Own

Hello there! Recently as of February 5th 2016 I ran twenty-one guardians through the Lost to Light quest and granted them all a shiny new Black Spindle with a smile on their faces :). I myself was disappointed in the amount I helped as I wanted to help everyone I could out, and will be next time Spindle is available. The Original Post Here So here is the one way I can help with my absolute best capabilities for you all who would like to help others get a Spindle, you running the mission with your fellow guardians, or just running maverick (solo). The Strategy is highly effective (proof for those who do not believe me, I have ran 21 Guardians through the mission and all have received the Spindle :)). It will be divided into separate sections including the following; •Each Room and strategy for the rooms •Factors and small mechanics to keep in mind •Overall Strategy •Emotional Factors •Suggested Factors, Weapons, and classes for your character to keep in mind So now for what I hear, A LOT. Usually its a team running the spindle and they do their job in smashing the blights down, killing ads then focusing the boss directly. Other times its a team sprinting with swords at the boss expecting to hold down the damage to complete the mission quickly. Or I have even heard there are those moments when you are one or two enemies away but NEARLY get it done and over with. Ive experienced all of these strategies and there is a major flaw with most of them, the most undermined flaw being communication and micromanaged teamwork. When doing the Spindle you NEED a plan of action for how it will go down, who shoots what and how itll all come together in the end. Ill explain here in a moment (after the basic mechanic of the mission and some suggestions to make the run much much easier on you and your teammates.) The Mechanics of the Mission: With the Black Spindle its usually not seen or known as often about the true mechanics of the mission itself. We know Blights spawn and you should kill those before all else, check. We know the final room is a spam fest of Ads, check. But here are the true and full mechanics of the mission itself as a whole. 1: The More Members on your FireTeam the more health all ads within the mission are given, this is why you can rip through thralls, or acolytes with as much ease as you usually would have. 2: Dying before getting to the actual start of the Black Spindle mission will result in a "no-go" meaning you must go to orbit and restart if you and your team wipe before getting to the Ketch. 3: The more members on your fire-team, the longer the self-revive time becomes for the Black Spindle Mission. This is shown with solo runners having 10 second self revive times and three man teams having a 20 second self revive time. Though reviving teammates for any team amount is always 10 seconds. 4: The first two rooms after entering the teleporter are not part of the Black Spindle mission directly and do not start the timer, so prepare your gear and supers here. 5: Elemental Damage is Extremely Effective for clearing Medi Ads such as pesky knights or annoying Captains. 6: Probably the main mechanic and the absolute most important mechanic is the boss room and the ads. You should NEVER go for the boss first. The reason? Every certain "checkpoint" health you knock the boss's health too spawns more blights and more ads, this process occurs four times. This is why the strategy including sword rush, two man ads one man boss and more do not work often and are very sketchy. This mechanic will be highly discussed in the official strategy below. There are four rounds of ads you must clear before the boss is alone for you to take. Two blights spawn each round and should be taken down immediately. Moving Onto Weapon Suggestions/Classes I see a lot of different strategies with different classes but here is probably the BEST layout for a solo player or a team as one. Class Types: For a titan; Run Sunbreaker, you'll be the main honcho who decimates the knights and captains floating around while taking out some smaller pesky ads in the process. For a Hunter; Run Nightstalker with the preferred perk of black hole. You will be the one taking out and locking up the tiny ads like the last room taken psions. Warlock; You'll be running a Stormcaller with the double chain perk. You will be the best and fastest way to clear out ads and are extremely useful with the sunbreaker or other storm callers within the final boss room. Weapons: For Primary Weaponry the best suggested primary weapon is the ZHalo supercell. It clears ads quickly and efficiently enough to make quite a smooth run. If no ZHalo run any Auto Rifle you have that is happy to chew up small ads quickly. For Secondary, no suggested weapon other than one person run either a solar or void shotgun and the other two or solo member run sniper. Its your choice in the end. For Heavy, Run. Machine Guns. If anyone has the Solar Sword let them be the one with the sword for clearing end boss ads and knights. But try not to have a rocket launcher. UNLESS it is a dragons breath with Napalm, then you shall be fine. Black Spindle Mission Overview Strategy/Walkthrough
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/190444359/0/0
And there you have it! If you took all the correct steps and did this correctly and coordinated it should be super easy! Thanks for reading guardians and hope you have a good day! -Neon Edit:
I am glad some of you have great ideas for strategies, but you require and specify weapons not everyone has and this strategy is nearly universal as auto rifles or pulse rifles, snipers/shotguns, and lmgs are abundant. Not everyone has your specific weapon combo or ableness to rush the boss :).

Dont be mean :/ if someone is helping others why not do the same rather than complaining that people are getting help, you all were without the spindle or experience once, but now you have that experience so spread your knowledge and help those who need it! • We did the boss kill first, my first ever attempt. We finished with minutes to spare. Had two bubble titans and a nightstalker. Kill the boss, kill the blights, pop heavy and kill everything else with swords swinging.
