Bungo should read and take notice- FORBES' coverage

When a news/media outlet with a bit of stroke starts covering your game in a negative manner, it should be clear sign that you're going the wrong path. Right the ship of Destiny or it may end up like Jack from Titanic... • The follow-up article on infusion that was alluded to in the article you linked is now up: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/02/08/why-destinys-economy-shouldnt-remain-rooted-in-infusion/#e92a6e270655 Just reading it now - but passing it along first for any who want to give it a look.

  • Hit the nail on the head! Couldn't agree more!! They are broke so that's the main reason they haven't spit out any PVE content they just won't admit it. They don't have the budget to fund a full team to create new worlds. New content. New weapons. (Not re-skins)

      • Ouch. And this from a guy who is usually writing favorable articles about destiny. When the negatives outweigh the positives, then you know there's a major problem. Bungie needs to hurry up before all the new games come out. Once players leave, they rarely come back.

      • I think an important message to take away here is that Forbes has been one of the sites that has been, more often than not, shamelessly licking Bungie's boots from very early on in Destiny's sordid history. They could do no wrong in Forbes' eyes ... and one writer or another would not only justify Bungie's bad decisions, anti-consumer practices, the complete lack of communication with the community - along with whatever other nonsense they doled out - but also find a way to then pat them (and Destiny) on the back for doing so. Now, suddenly, we have a (relatively) well-written article from Forbes calling Bungie out on many of the very same things that the actual community has been doing for ages. First their YouTube 'darlings' start coming out of the woodwork recently with uncharacteristically anti-Bungie sentiments ... and now one of their more frequent media fan sites is voicing disapproval. Bungie needs to realize that even the most 'devout' of their followers are getting tired of lip service and bull$hit.

The truly sad thing is the next "this week at Bungie" will have a lot of announcements about PVE and then all will be forgiven like the past six months never happened. It doesn't matter how many times they spit in your face, lie to you, or screw you over with bad business practices, you'll go right back to bowing down in front of them as soon as they release new story missions, strikes, or a raid. I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie paid Forbes (one of Bungie's biggest supporters) to write this article so they can create a higher fake demand and get traffic so people will start paying attention to Bungie again so then they'll drop the hono of PVE. It doesn't matter if they release pvp or PVE content. I won't support this game because of how they treated me as their consumer and supporter.

          • Yes... I would like extra ketchup on my ketchup sandwich please. Nice article. Basically what you have.. Destiny year 1 ... pay 2x the price (Original game + TDB + HoW) to get one year of content. Destiny year 2 ... Pay 1x the price ( TTK) and that's all you get. Bungie and Activision are presenting the player base with a zen riddle which they would like to propose only has (2) solutions. 1) pay them 2x the cost for one complete game. 2) pay them 1x the cost for half a game. Hmmmm... which is the better option? I would humbly suggest there is a 3rd option they have not told us. Don't pay them anything. Don't play their games. I know, it's a novel solution not many are capable of selecting, but it might just be the best option for your sanity as well as the health of Bungie, Activision and the gaming industry in general. After all, what WE get as a gaming community, is based on how WE react to developers and publishers. If we accept what Bungie and Activision are selling as Destiny year 1 and year 2, we have nobody but US to blame when we get more of the same from Bungie and Activision as well as other developers and publishers.

                • To be honest? I'm honestly ok with Paul over on Forbes. He's a massive improvement over some of the other blogs I've seen, but the issue which remains with him?
There’s no matchmaking This is it. The final straw. I’m about to go nuclear on Bungie’s absurd obsession with fireteams,
Probably a better choice of words for a contributing volunteer and not journalist. I get he's going for ratings and publicity and just trying to use terminology others are using... I am not a kid. I am not a young adult. And I definitely see stuff like that and go, "how old is Paul trying to act versus how old he actually is?" Because had he written that intro like this? "There is no matchmaking. With the lack of matchmaking options for Crimson Doubles as well as other modes of play in Destiny..." Then I wouldn't be saying this. You are your choice of words online and I hold people to a basic level of: Do not sound like a kid. Ever. For any reason. So my actual stance on Paul now? Get him off of Forbes till he's old enough to know why there is this thing called standards which says, "use appropriate commentary and word terminology to convey a message which promotes positive discussion."

                •
Obviously it’s a lot harder to pump out fresh content for PvE, because that requires physically making new content rather than just changing the rules sets of a PvP mode.
Wrong. They still have the majority of Vanilla Destiny to release. Old Chicago, Mercury, the storyline featuring the Crow, the Stranger and Rasputin. Rasputin was the center of the original story and my guess is this new update may finally release what should have been the complete game. I really suspect what they're doing is re-voicing our guardians with more CoD personalities to make it match Taken King. They haven't technically pumped out fresh content for Destiny - well, the live team has, but not the Dev. Team.
