DeeJ,
Can we get an official statement on the future of PvP servers?
Will we ever get dedicated servers or are we wasting our breath?
Is any money from LiveTeam events/silver sales earmarked for these servers?
Is any DLC revenue earmarked for these servers?
Are you even aware that a large portion of your playerbase really wants Dedicated Servers?
Edit: should have made this a poll to see how many actually want Dedicated Servers.
Dont forget to "like" this so we have a better chance of getting an answer.
-
I see Cozmo answering polls about how bad he is, but not something that a large portion of the playerbase wants to know.
-
Still nothing...
-
No dedicated servers=not buying sequel.

Edited by Cheesesteak21: 2/1/2016 8:18:53 PMIf they don't fix their net code dedicated servers won't help, there was an excellent post on reddit a while ago from a network engineer breaking down the pros and cons of each system. You should find that post and link it in your post. Edit: https://m.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/330oi5/misc_dedicated_servers_these_are_not_the_solution/

I'm not as educated as some when it comes to Internet lag and servers or whatever the hell but I do think that the problems started even just a tad before this whole skill based matching... they should go back to connection based and also would it be possible to have setting to only connect with people in the us? Like, have a setting international connection? I think Naruto shippuden online does this
-
Lmaoo If Activision won't shell out money for dedicated servers for COD, a billion dollar franchise, then they sure as won't for destiny, a game that left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.
-
Do we still have skill based match making for all crucible game modes right now?

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/189458030/0/0 LETS GET THIS TO BUNGIE
-
I agree with another poster: Activision's cash cow COD doesn't have them so they're not going to give them to Bungie for this game any time soon. I doubt you'll see them for Destiny 2 either unless Bungie buys them themselves.
-
No poll needed. It would probably be the only poll on the forum that tallies 100%
-
This is an example of someone who doesn't understand the implications of dedicated servers in a -blam!-ing social game. No No -blam!-ing way will they ever do this. They're trying to push teaming up on us, not punishing us with more lag due to teaming up. Come on.
-
They are aware. Dedicated servers more than likely won't be implemented for this game prior to prev gen support being dropped. Shit's expensive.
-
Peer-to-peer hosting was all the rage in Bungie's Halo days, but today's gamers don't want to be shot around corners. Hopefully dedicated servers are in the plans for Destiny 2.

P2p connection is not horrible
-
Probs won't happen till the sequel to destiny

Edited by Guardiandown72: 2/1/2016 6:34:06 PMFor the last time: Dedicated servers will not help the lag issue. I know there has got to be some tech people out there that can help explain. Destiny is a peer to peer game. 6 people connecting to 6 people . All 12 people will have to have steady connection on there end for the connection to be perfect. If one person is watching porn while playing Destiny it can cause lag. No amount of dedicated servers could correct this. They can how ever match players based on connection . They have started doing this as of late. A large portion of the player base has no idea how the internet works. Dedicated Servers will not help. I hope this helps some people understand. The fact that you can have a clean match with someone in Scottland is pretty impressive.

Is halo 5 dedicated servers?
-
you won't see them for this destiny. its too far into its lifespan. i feel there will be a good chance we will have them for Destiny 2. with the nonstop threads about lag in PvP, its impossible for bungie to ignore how horrible their ancient P2P system is. but without the numbers showing people play PvP, they may not get the budget to get dedicated servers for destiny 2. that may be the reasoning behind bungie forcing PvP down our throats, to get the numbers up.
-
But Destiny 2 hasnt been officially announced so how can we have any expectancy for it if no actual announcement has been made??
-
Maybe, maybe in Destiny 2. Bungie has already given up on this game. That they've been phoning it in since September, should be apparent to everyone.
-
Never going to happen stop making these post.

Bump May the lag die screaming.
