Reaching Max Light doesnt mean anything

Ok so Ive been looking around on the forums and a topic I see every so often is complaints about how hard it is to reach max light and events that drop max light gear being unfair and blah blah blah a million other stupid things. Ive been playing destiny for a little under a year and never cared for reaching the max level for one simple reason, when the next dlc or "event" drops light level is increased and gear starts dropping at higher levels. Anyone who thinks light level corresponds to how good someone is at this game is about half right. Rng could give you amazing drops for running a raid once while being carried or by grinding the hell out of IB or being carried through ToO. Light level barely matters in raids once you pass a certain threshold and only matters in these laggy PVP events. The rest of the game can be enjoyed from light 280 plus the more you play the easier it is to get to or close to 300. What people actually should be complaining about is lack of inventory variety weapons and gear are real stale right now, vendors have had the same stuff for about 3 or 4 months and without the promise of a new raid soon there is nothing for collectors to look forward to.
