Updated Chart: PvP Performance by Light
As requested here's an updated version of the chart Deej shared in last week's Bungie Weekly Update with comparison data for other game modes.
To be clear, no one's claiming Light is the only factor in PvP success, or that PvP success is measured purely by K/D. (Or so I keep telling myself every time I play my Defender Titan...) We're also not claiming correlation equals causation, just sharing some data we thought was cool. :)

THAT is the biggest enemy in PvP You took 500 million off our dollars before the game was even released, how much more have we thrown at you since? You can't takes FRACTION of that money and let us enjoy dedicated servers? You're welcome!

It's unwise to grind PvE for the few points of light at the end, therefore only the unwise reached max level, and being unwise they performed worse at PvP. That's my explanation of the dip.

Sorry but since higher light usually mean higher experience the statistics aren't reliable at all. If anything I would say that the higher light should be even higher on there. And the Higher KD in Trails doesn't mean a thing since the teams are premade instead of matchmaking. And when you add in higher light/experience + Premade team + probably PVP focus then all of a sudden the statistic is just pointless. What you should look at is the Latency/KD/Win instead. And look over the problems in pvp with getting kicked. Like getting a loss when it is actually the server dropping you. I understand that leaving/pulling the plugg should result in a loss. But when the communication with destiny servers is interupter and it is not User error that is a huge problem. And how hard could it be to make the server simply add a delay equal to the delay of the person playing. Lets say he has 10 ping down but 200 up. The server should then make the response time slower so that it is 200ping up and down. This eliminates the benefit of lagswitching for example or the "Stream game play" abuse.

1 ReplyAs a small business manager if you had shown me this with your caveats I would have assumed that you were a) Under utilising your time b) Hiding your true message behind waffle c) Expecting to look for another source of income in the near future. I can't say that by offering meaningless updates such as this demonstrates that you are listening to your community because the level of customer service you are providing is, at best, salty. Your endeavours would be better rewarded if you addressed the concerns of the community with honesty, integrity and with a high degree of humility. What you have set out to do vis a vis being open and communicative with your product's development is laudable it is also dangerously naive to think that you can treat everyone as a 'friend' who shares the same humour as yourself. It would be much wiser to treat us as investors who have the right to know what our hard earned money is actually being spent on. To this end..... keep your updates plain and simple and keep the content relevant.

2 RepliesThis could also be heavily attributed to the fact that higher light players play the game more and have done the hardest PVE content in the game. Translating into gun skill in PVP. This graph is more of an indication of those who play the game more than light having anything to do with it at least outside of level advantage enabled modes. Which by the way are a farce in Trials 300 should never beat a 317. level advantages need to be that level advantages. Currently they are not. Fix your RNG and then you can enable true advantages because RNG has to much say in that.
