Why did you stop playing?
Interesting topic many have gone over but I'm still interested as to the specific reasons why people have left. I've been playing since beta, I'm a good player (top 5% or so in most stats according to tracker)
Myself, I've stopped playing apart from Trials on weekends sometimes because honestly for 6 weeks on 3 characters I got nothing from hard raids. It's like beating your head against a big rng-brick wall that even when something chips off, it turns out it's a 311 chest.
My fix would've been that nothing lower than previous could be dropped (idk if this is impossible to implement) but if you've previously had a 314, it should only be able to drop 314 and above for you. This seems fair. Again, its rng but then you know the grind will actually get you there EVENTUALLY. Sadly skill only now works in Trials which is why its all I come back for (and iron banner clash was fun) but PvE is not even worth the time and effort, especially with all the other amazing games out recently (personally I'm a fallout guy)
Challenge mode changes absolutely nothing. I'll still get unusable drops. At least in previous expansions if you got an armour piece it was always great the first time.

Haven't played in weeks. Playing a lot of fallout 4 for PVE. And rainbow six siege is just a blast PvP, as realistic as FPS come now a days.

Technically still have my own clan that is now dwindling as no one is playing any more (100 down to around 65) as much better games out right now such as Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Star Wars Battlefront ('ish). Just sick to death of doing the same old crap all the time in Destiny every day/week. Its just not worth it considering what it is giving you back in drops or lack of them. I think that Bungie thinks its players are just suckers. The paper mask festival nonsense was the last straw. A ton of work with no pay off at the end at all. I've now uninstalled it as saving the hard disk space for better games.

For a game that revolves around loot there is a major lack of it. Mix in prolonged grind to increase play time with no content I grew very bored. Removing strikes, making previous end game obsolete and taking away actually fun weapons sure didn't help either.

I quit coz of fallout 4 i only go on for nightfall and raids but thats it i used to play everyday but the grind is annoying with its 2x rng

I stopped playing a few weeks ago when Fallout 4 was released. It's probably because Bungie doesn't listen to the community.

Life happened, fallout 4, and I really haven't felt like it.. Though I did get on to run a few rounds of trials, and it was just T-Bags galore... Like well done, you still tryhard in a game that's losing its luster, you do you man... I didn't even do bad, but hell I get tired of the cod fanboys playing this game. You find me on cod, I'm in zombies.

It started with strange coin nerf and ende with micro transactions and terrible raid drop rates. There was no endgame win state and getting to max light was statistically impossible given the drop rates. Challenge mode brings nothing new and will only hasten player departure IMHO. Its not worth coming back to grind for 2 exotics that I may never get, unless Xur sells them. I think Y2 is over before the 1st DLC. Whats that going to bring? Probably not a new raid. It will be like HoW all over again.

I stopped playing after I got sick and didn't play for about a week and read books, got caught up on anime and movies, then Halo 5 came out, Tomb Raider came out, Tales came out and Star Wars Battlefront came out. Just Cause 3 comes out this week and Destiny is the same game it was over a month ago. To me Destiny is a trap it keeps you from experiencing other games and interests. I never played MMO's before Destiny and I'm not feeling how weapons I worked hard to get become obsolete with each DLC, I get why it happens but I still don't care for it. Destiny is like a 2nd job where keeping up with the Jones is the objective. Nope not doing it anymore. I check in here for the weekly updates and to see what community is saying about the game, and I've had a good time playing Destiny, but I've shelved it for now and it would take a lot for me to buy the next DLC, let alone Destiny 2.

Fallout 4 is a seductive mistress. Also, why run 3 raids a week and get nothing half the time when I can just do one and save myself a few hours of rage?

Fatigue mostly. There are other games I want to play more right now, though I still hop on Destiny from time to time with my friends. I'll probably be back more often with the next release of content.

Not enough content. Was done in about 3-4 weeks and I even took my time. Oh and the repetitive grind for crap gear. Not going to spend another year grinding Raids or trials for a CHANCE to increase your light level. Now I just log on here from time to time to see if destiny has improved or not

The lack of elemental burn on primary weapons The lack of re rolling weapons The weapon perks are mostly rubbish perks The repetitive boring nature of strikes, patrols etc The loot system in pvp that rewards the worst players Blah blah blah blah...the list goes on...

Got tired of running the same strikes over and over. Got tired Of looking for raid group ( still not finished oryx) I'm still invested in destiny but my desire to play is non existent. Keep coming here to check news. Currently being distracted, 120 hours into fallout. Still having a blast.

Between all these f[u]u[/u]ckers wanting Titan to be completely useless except for a damn bubble in PvE, and running hard raid numerous times with randoms just to get shit thus my light being to low to beat Hard Oryx. Both of these things have pushed me away from Destiny. And thus has pushed me away from video games. I [b][u][i]HATE[/i][/u][/b] f[i]u[/i]cking drama and Destiny seems to be nothing but drama now. I have to resort to play free games from PS Plus until I can afford to buy COD for Zombies. At least there isn't much drama from killing zombies.

Getting between 310 - 313 gear my last few hard raids. I'm done until they give me hardmode gear. At least 315+

I mostly stopped playing when they did away with elemental primaries. I was like "No elementals from the hard raid? No hard raid for me." They could have just as easily given all primary weapons a burn instead of taking them away. None of the new gear feels as satisfying as just plugging 27 VoC rounds into an enemy.
