The tower has a limit of 16 people, and matchmaking is what brings people to the tower. So even if there was a matchmaking board in the tower, if you posted on it, say for a hard KF raid, that post would be visible to a [b]maximum[/b] of 15 people. A lot of people (I'd venture to say most) go to the tower to turn in engrams, pick up bounties, use the vault to switch a bunch of stuff when changing characters, and when necessary as a quest step/to pick up a rank up package. The minority go to the tower to use it as a social space to find other random people for an activity or to build teams for raids using LFG/outside sites. Orbit is a better place to form a raid team using LFG because orbit can't be "full" like the tower which can stop people from joining. So the limited number of the people in the tower and the fact that matchmaking (usually regional + preferred players/friends) decides who is in the tower makes it inefficient for recruiting raid teams. My suggestion would be activity specific mini-social spaces: an area with no vendors or extras capable of holding 16 people for each raid/iron banner, 9 for nightfall/trials/dailies. Everyone can form their groups there easily and they all know they're trying to do the same activity. This eliminates the extra people in the tower that are just there to use the vault or turn in engrams, to maximize the number of people in the social space that would want to join a group. There could also be matchmaking parameters for the activities, such as a light level requirement for KF hard mode waiting areas, previous raid completion checks, etc. For instance, Flawless trials could unlock the lighthouse all the time, and each week a flawless run would give you a chest key. So people wanting to form trials teams could hang out in the lighthouse (9 player capacity) and find teammates there.

Phone app works for me. That way i can still run daily or weekly while i wait. I have never had to use more than this app or destinylfg.com to find a group. The issue i have is the type of group you get Every group has the quiet player who you have to ask if they got a mic. The been there done that, got the tshirt to prove it guy, then you got the i CANNOT run gaze/relic, even though they claim to be experienced. Then you got the guy who is eating/vaping/ripping bong hits with his mic on. Then the guy who cant hear or his mic is messed up due to NAT issues or simply cannot stay connected. The best ones are the guys who tell you they completed the raid 100 times. Proclaim they have the best strat for deathsingers but cannot make it past the jumping ships. "Dont know whats happening, just pull me through." For the record. I am usually the quiet guy or the one who is letting the team know its ok to wipe or covering plates when someone gets the case of the stupids mid-raid.

I just wish there was -blam!-ing proximity chat in this game. Hoping someone is on the right voice channel sucks. Just enable proximity voice by default, so if you fly by someone they can say "HEY, wanna do X?" I absolutely love typing out a novel on to see if someone wants to run a strike with me.

There absolutely needs to be some way of finding a group for raids, nightfalls, exotic quests, etc... in game. This nonsense of searching forums, refreshing the screen for replies, and then typing in the user's name on the console to find them has go to go. It's absurdly inefficient and annoying. The LFG sites aren't much better. They give you the link to send a message directly but it's still very cumbersome. Furthermore, because there are so many different ways to find groups, the people looking for groups are spread out. Meaning your chances of finding a group are diminished due to a smaller pool of people in each source. If there was one, central, in game area to find a group it would make this game so much better.

Here's another one..................... I no a lot of people wonder how bungie might be able to put in a new raid lounge with a post board. But what if bungie could allow us to select a world specifically for an antivity, so people could find a group. For eg. World 1 would could be for guardians looking for groups in raids. World 2 could be for people looking for groups in Nightfall. World 3 could be for groups in iron banner or trials. Every world has a specific type of preference. You choose the world you want to join on the tower menu in orbit and there, almost everyone in the tower is looking for the same activity group. What you think? Will it work? Might it happen? Correct me. We need to know. Or juat rate 1- 10

A benefit to everyone? A lot of people dont have mics and some people who have completed the raid still have trouble doing it.

Here is how I see it working: Step 1 - You create a board post for a party. Once created it shows up like a quest for you and on the bounty board (or newly dedicated board) for everyone else to see at the tower Step 2 - go about your merry way doing what you want Step 3 - players go to the board at the tower and see your request. If they take it on, it shows up as a quest for them as well. The progress bar can equal the number of players you requested. Step 4 - players who take on your request go on their own way until all requested player slots have been filled Step 5 - once all slots are filled, all players who accepted the post will be alerted in the same fashion as when a quest alerts when it is completed Step 6 - when the original poster proceeds with the alert, all players connected to the post will be linked as a Fireteam, with the OP as leader, and sent to orbit from w/e they were doing. Step 7 - Original Poster proceeds with desired activity

The reason Bungie won't host a LFG is because they don't want to be sued when someone gets their feelings hurt because a post is requiring .... 310+ .... no scrubs .... must have emblem ... max Gjallerhorn ...

This idea is so much more brilliant than raid matchmaking. Seriously.

I still stick with my original idea that the bar are, under FWC should be a designated area for people looking for a group of any kind. Message boards would get spammed. Just spawn in head down to the lounge, shoot some invites and stand around like we all already do from time to time but without the guesswork

A recruitment board would get so cluster-blam!-ed with needed help it would be a terrible idea. Ideas like this get tossed around on the forums but aren't really good.
