Destiny is an Experience Bungie is Selling - Why Don't People Get This?

Common complaints on the forum are: 1. Guns we earned have been nerfed! 2. People playing since Day One have paid more money! 3. Reissuing Y1 weapons at Y2 levels is just giving us something we already bought! 4. All playlists should be open to everyone! 5. Exotics shouldn't be time gated! The common misunderstanding behind all of these complaints is that people don't realize that Bungie isn't selling you digital stuff (i.e. digital guns and armour and maps), they're selling you an experience. For example, I'm super jazzed about the MIDA coming back. People say "but they're just giving you back something you paid for that they took away". Yeah, that kinda true if you just focus on access to a digital gun. But that's not what you should focus on. What Bungie has given me by taking away the MIDA and giving it back is an experience. I was super bummed when MIDA didn't come into year 2 but it also made me go out and get a better scout - I'm pretty casual but I put in extra effort to get the Gemini prior to the first Iron Banner so that I had a good Y2 scout. I was super excited when I got it and it's been fun to use. Now the MIDA's coming back and I am legitimately, real world happy about that. See? The ebb and flow of weapon usefulness and availability is actually a fun thing to experience and that's what Bungie is selling. Same for everything else above. If you focus on the made up digital stuff then you're going to be disappointed. But if you focus on the real world actual experience that Bungie is trying to provide then you'll be overjoyed.
