Sunbreaker is only slightly op, just like any other SUPER, that's why it's a super.
First off, I mained a Titan since day 1.
I have gotten all three classes to max during VoG then promptly deleted them, made all titans, left destiny in the middle of TDB through the entirety of HoW, saw the new subclasses, came back shortly after the release of TTK, and started the other two classes again.
They no longer have any appeal to me, other than cosmetic, since my boy got that fire.
Pvp was, dare i say it?-broken for titans y1 as far as supers go. I've been killed mid FoH by anything you can think of, not to mention the panic supers that kill nothing, and the "bubble" is a joke without the y2 helm of Saint 14.
It's my belief that every class has their "god mode", but let's be honest, you don't have EVERYTHING.
For example, if you look closely at the perks for sunbreaker, you cannot have regen health and sunspot for overshield, you cannot track targets and create sunspots to stand in so you can throw more hammers nor shoulder charge.

But know this, I am ecstatic, ECSTATIC, that upon hearing the hammer come down, my foes in the crucible finally know fear.
I have also been tazed, gunned down, chopped up, cooked crispy, chewed up, and spat out using HoS as well.
Now, finally, in y2, in certain situations, with the right perks any classes subclass can totally wipe a large banquet hall with ease. Even the titans.

I'm not saying titans don't need nerfing. They do-
I thought saying they were op in the title would make that clear.
-and they're getting it, but saying they have regen health AND overshield at anytime is false and an impossibility.
You are unable to equip the regeneration perk AND overshield simultaneously.
Personally I prefer simmering flames to either. I can lob a grenade every 12 seconds when my super is charged with max discipline.

Reported, have you ever tried to gun down a blade dancer with a primary? You've probably succeeded. Ever try to gun Down a sunbreaker with primary? Is it even possible? Sunbreakers have tracking hammers, health on kill, way too much health, and a ranged weapon Bladedancers have a melee weapon, the slightest extra health, health on kills (if you even get one) and are still 1 shot by sunbreakers [spoiler]have no idea why I chose blade dancer but too late now [/spoiler]

1 ReplySunbreaker is fine. The only thing that needs to be merged is the armor. Make it a 1 shot headshot with mid- high damage snipers. A lot of people complain about the fact that you gain health with each kill. Hunters, ever heard of hungering blade? People also complain about the amount of hammers you get. Regarding that the hammers have little tracking and travel time, you end up missing some of your hammers. Some people think you should get 8 golden gun shots since we get 5-9 hammers. Reading above, we end up only getting 3 kills against agile teams. So to conclude, Titans are only OP in the sense that they have too much armor- Bungie: Just nerf the armor of the Sunbreaker.

4 Repliesit's more than slightly op...It's the hardest super to kill, the easiset super to use. I main a hunter...but when I use the titan before TTK...I couldnt figure out how to use him...NOW....when I get my super I run towards the red on my radar spamming hammers. I dont even have to aim...I just laugh as they track and kill for me. It's so lame.

2 Repliesjust let the super be couterable without another super. If a skilled player meets a noob, he should be able to beat it if he plays right. With this super you get the headshot and then get killed and then regen all their health back right there. Only gg, tether, nova bomb, and FoH can consistanly counter it.

9 RepliesYour argument for it not being OP is that Titans finally have an OP super and shouldn't lose it? That's a terrible argument. And who cares that you "mained a Titan since year 1". I've played all classes since day 1 which gives me a much better understanding of what is OP and what isn't. The Sunbreaker super is definitely OP and broken. The problem comes with the skill tree setup. Most subclasses have multiple decent skills in each tree leading to a multitude of builds depending on playstyle. With Sunbreakers, you can pretty easily guess the setup: Forgemaster, Flameseeker, Cauterize, and Immolation Fists. No proper build should exist for any subclass. As for the "weaknesses" of the HoS? Travel arc is actually a strength. You can chuck hammers over cover to destroy enemies hiding from your wrath. And travel time would be an issue if nearly every map didn't heavily favor close quarters combat. On a side note: this is why Stormcallers feel OP because enemies are usually grouped so close the lightning jumps to all of them. Sunbreakers are essentially Bladedancers that can throw knives that explode on impact like mini Nova Bombs.

After killing a HoS titan with a single Golden Gun shot (not the x6 shot) in Iron Banner and out side if it i have to say the only thing i feel needs to updated is the armor. You should die from [b]2[/b] 1000 yard stare shots. Not one... Not that they do any way but 3 sniper headshots seems fair every other super goes down in one or 2 headshots regardless of stats in my experience so it should be with HoS. But that is all i think needs to change. The blast radius is huge but so is combustion on Goldem Gun and the Nova bomb clusters. Really the damage is fine the health regen might be a little quick bit hey like the poster pointed out... Its a SUPER. Now back to PvP with hammers lol.

See sometimes titans don't realize what they are talking about....saying "hey I main a titan and I'm not OP" really doesn't speak well with the crowd. So I hope you understand he is a titard, probably not realizing that there needs to be an adjustment made to Hammers. I hope you forgive him and his salty ways, and know, that some of us titans don't think that way. Sincerely, Defender/striker titan

I love how Titans don't understand that when they use lines like "Well we sucked all of year 1!" or "We deserve a super like this!" because they only further the proof that they need a nerf. Most of you Titans do a great job of living up to the Titan stereotype of being an idiot, without even realizing it. We are wayyyyy past discussing whether it needs a nerf (it does), and have now moved on to how hard it will be nerfed in a few weeks. You still have some time with it in its OP form, so enjoy it while you can. The December update is rapidly approaching. Prepare yourself.
