Challenge mode. Lol.
Only 2.5% have completed hard mode oryx. That tells u 97.5% of destiny players suck. U think im going to try and haul their arses through challenge mode. No way. I don't even do hard oryx anymore. Because there is always that one fool who messes up.
Hell I love the raid and the difficulty and the challenge. What I don't like it having to rely on others for my success.
Yes raids need to be challenging but as kings fall stands although magnificent there is no place to have One or two complete doughnuts dragging u down. So will I do challenge mode. Maybe but only with less than ten people on my friends list. Just as i will sometimes do hard with them if we are on at the same time.
Basically will be up for raiding challenge and hard maybe in another two months when the other 97.5% sort it out and get better at the game so I am not waiting hours at best to get lower light or same as what I have. At worst nothing at all because one or two guys couldn't live longer than a may fly.
I think most missed the point of the post. The point is nobody should feel they can't help people through the raid. Yes have a high end Amaizing raid for the embalem. But max light locked behinde it and having consistent players all on at the same time is unrealistic. I love the challenge and love helping people. But this raid along with alot of my player base moving on since esol fo4 and cod3 has made it hard. If max light is locked behinde hard ki should be abel to suffer weaker links who will eventually get better from the confidence boost of completion.
Basically challenge mode should be what hard mode is now. Ultra endgame with cosmetic bling. With hard mode being path to max light in a way I can pretty much be assured most can get it down after at most an hour or two at the end.

90% of all Destiny players probably aren't playing anymore which heavily skews your ideas. Literally every account that has been ever created is in that statistic. People said this about VoG too. They tried to say raids weren't good because only 19% had ever done one. Turns out only like 40% of all players had even reached level 20. That was almost a year ago now, imagine how many more have quit.

This looks like a good place for it: I challenge you to kill the hive trio under steppes using nlb without missing in 10 seconds. Rewards include glimmer (with black wax) and a chance for an idol/codex. What's that? Why would I kill something I've killed numerous times in a new way for a chance at trash? Because... Because you may get good loot. Now go out there and get me those kills.

I see it just like you do. Challenge modes should drop shaders / ships / sparrows / emblems and harmode-tier gear. But not new higher level gear as it is already hard enough to get people for a hardmode run. People that can make it through some fights. And i'm done carrying, i'll just admit it. [spoiler]Remember VoG? Carried peopel for hours, it sucked. Crota? Even more hours wasted farming heavy ammo and staring at a crystal. PoE? Stuck at skolas because one of your two mates was a fool. King's Fall? Sucks I'm done[/spoiler]

It's not that 97% suck it's that a large portion of the people bungie claims as active users don't play anymore. Only 30% of players get the trophy for reaching rank 1 with crucible or Vanguard Take that as basically 70% of people that bought this game never played it past a few hours lol

Maybe if you could recover from a mistake then more people would be interested, but as is you are right there is always 1 person to -blam!- up and you have to start over. And over. And over. And over....
