So I just don't understand why Bungie turned into money hungry people.

This refer a friend is their way of keeping their game from dying. Then there's the micro transactions. It's just not heading in the right direction. They don't even care about their day one players. I just don't understand. Edit: Thanks for all the feedback guys! Really wasn't expecting this many, I really appreciate it!

  • Those saying that they're a business and they're allowed to make money. HP was a legendary business. The best at everything they made; workstations, test equipment, printers, even calculators. Then they went full Bungie and started charging a fortune for consumables and making cheap tat. Now look at them. Yes, you're allowed to make money. Yes, even good money to get longevity for your business. Your business's reputation is worth a lot more than the balance sheet for the next quarter. What you're not allowed to do is take the piss out of your customers. And Bungie are taking the piss.

    • Activi$ion owns Destiny and technically Bungie too. Bungie is only able to do the patches and have their name on the stuff until their 10 year contract is up.

Because money is the key to everything. I don't blame them I rather have billions in the bank instead of a couple of thousands of nerds praising me for making a cool game. Not to mention they have billions and still manage to keep a loyal community after them milking everyone. Bungie are pros at keeping the sheep following without questioning. And if they do question they just throw a pair of exotic boots at you and you forget what you were even questioning in the first place.

    • They were money hungry after the first halo, the exlcusive for a year is because of bad blood with MS because bungie didn't know how to read a contract and honor it and MS made them honor it. Plus they haven't wanted to do halo since before halo 2. They broke away from MS because of not owning their own IP and being able to keep most of the money. Then they jump into another 4 game 10 year contract where they allow the publisher to gut their game and make it a piece of shit knowing that solid gunplay is what will keep most around. That's the story as short as possible. Basically if you have. Problem stop playing the game and send a message to them. Don't come here to bitch about it

      • When? My guess would either be the day it was founded or the IPO. Everybody is out there making money how they can. I don't fault them for that as long as what I get out of the transaction is good. Skipping out on RAF technically doesn't cost me anything, so I can sleep easy. It is knowing that my desire for redundant swords is strong enough to risk my interpersonal relationships that worries me.

      • It's because they're in contracts with Activision. They are the money hungry -blam!- that pretty much gave birth to micro transactions on console

Bungie signed a contract with a billionaire publisher who's only goal is to maximize profits on all games they publish, they don't care a lot about consumer opinions. Not only that, but Activision is one of the only few I know who can easily loan them 500 million (the only other publishers I can think of that can loan that much money would be Nintendo & Microsoft but, obviously, Nintendo would most likely force it to be an exclusive for their consoles so they were out of the question and Bungie recently left Microsoft due to a bad business relationship). Really, they had no one else to turn too for publishing a game this large. Activision might be the ones pulling Bungie's strings and would have the final say for the product Bungie made.
