Nerfing Shotgun Range Won't fix anything

The range of shotgun isn't the problem, honestly its pretty ridiculous that the bullets just disappear at a certain distance (especially the slug on the chaperone, but that is another post entirely). The only thing that will fix shotguns is to remove OHK body shot at any range. It is ridiculous that a shotgun can consistently OHK a sword (sword has armor buff) when the sword is a heavy weapon melee attack. Shotguns deserve a little range, it is a GUN. but the one shot at any range is ridiculous. I think a body shot in the effective range should nearly kill you but always require an extra shot or melee (the same way the chaperone requires two body shots) The makes rate of fire relevant, which currently based on everyone in Iron Banner using the conspiracy theory D it clearly isn't relevant at the moment. TL;DR Shotgun shouldn't have range nerved (again), they should have damage reduce in PVP so they no longer OHK. Edit: I am reffering to body shots in this entire post, I am against OHK for non precision body shots in PVP.

  • I can say I agree with this post but it still seems like some of them have a range that is ridiculous. However I am up for them reducing damage. I don't think they should be one shot kills. And, it tires me to always be pitted against guardians who use the shotgun like a primary. Perhaps reducing the damage would take care of that.

  • Taking away range will require being close to OHK. Cutting down impact will take away OHK. Either way, I'm happier.

    • Nope for both range is fine and its a shotgun in the FUTURE where we have SPACE MAGIC, OHK within its range is fine. All that nerf does is take shotguns away from PvE players as a viable weapon.

    • Here's the thing. As you stated [i]everybody is using conspiracy theory d[/i] Everybody has access to it. Personally, I'm using party crasher +1 / lord of wolves in iron banner. No back up plans encourages the use of them. Shotguns are fine how they are. But honestly, if you don't want them to one hit kill, snipers shouldn't ohk from across the map, and fusions shouldn't burst kill. Shotgun range is also laughably unrealistic in this game (as in it is far too short) but every other gun has realistic range (even guns that dont actually exist in reality - fusions) and always have been. I think that is already a fair enough penalty to balance out the ohk it rewards (as shotguns do in most other games) Even with the range "issues" of shotties, you were still going down if you let any guardian get that close to you

    • If they made it so Shotguns don't one hit kill then neither should snipers or fusions. Or grenades or supers or rockets or jumping of the edge of the map. We should just hold hands in the crucible and apologize when someone gets tickled too hard from 1000 yard feather duster and pillow crasher + 1

      • I'm not agreeing with you or arguing, but consider this.. Increase the drop off for power take out obj unless you take a full blast close up and give everyone a year one universal remote. THEN lets hear the complaints
