Pulse Rifles

I mean come on. Its to the point where people aren't even switching out there pulse rifle for range or close quarter fighting. There using them as sniper rifles and shotguns now. I had someone corner me and blindfire a headshot to me last night. I just don't understand why they won't fix them. There needs to be a steeper damage fall off or wider bullet spread. My best story still is when I was using my scout rifle marking the other team from a distance I was watching my teammate way in front of me fighting a guy. That guy was using a pulse rifle and he kept missing. All his missed shots missed there target and tracked to my face. I died from missed pulse rifle shots. When I'm in the Pantheon and there's the basically sniper only fight spot (bring a scout rifle if you dare). And there's people with pulse rifles fighting snipers and winning from range. They have too much damn range. They work too well up close. Its like an auto rifle and a sniper rifle made a love child. How can they not tell that a large percentage of PvP kills have come from Pulse Rifles in year 2? I've played matches and for a solid 5 minute block the kill board thingy on the screen is just so and so killed so and so with a pulse rifle.

    • Honestly, everyone is complaining about these things but here's some facts. Since Dark Below's balancing, PRs have been really powerful. You know that lovely combination of PR and Invective you see now? I have been doing it since Dark Below. Now here's another fact for you. In Y1, the messenger did 38 to the head, 26 to the body. It was considered a top tier PR. Top Tiers now do 33 to the head and 22 to the body. That's a nerf. In Y1, they would CONSISTENTLY outsnipe snipers (I know because I did it for fun in Trials vs sub par snipers). Since 2.0 dropped, PRs have had their base stability dropped by 2.5%. Correct me if I am wrong but this is a nerf. And now the one that ties them all together. The PRs being used are fairly diverse. Reflection Sum, Spare Change (expect that to be nerfed, still does Y1 damage levels), Hawksaw, Nirwen's, Red Death, Bad JuJu, Villainy, No Time To Explain, Herja-D/Lyudmila-D and soon to be Suros PDX (if reports are to be believed) are all in frequent usage. Compare that to Y1...it was Hawkmoon, Thorn or Last Word being used. Very rarely seeing a Legendary Hand Cannon in PvP. Put that into context and think about it for a while.

      • Yes, I agree. Not even AR's can out gun a PR from mid range. That says a lot about how OP PR's are in year 2. They need to be tone down a notch. It's the go to weapon class as of right now. Even I didn't use to use PR's and here I am now using one because other weapon class just can't compete with them. The famous PR's right now are hawksaw, red death, and bad juju. Those three just wreck in crucible and can't no one tell me that they don't. Bungie just never seem to be able to balance out anything right. They nerf the shit out of other weapon class to only then have one weapon class rise to the top. Every update just keeps getting more shitty.
