My packages idea was used :D

I made this post after the first year 2 iron banner ended, we all knew it was a disaster, but here were my ideas and you will see the packages idea is being implemented! [u]Rewards[/u] The end of match iron banner legendary drop chance needs to be increased. Legendary+ rewards should have a higher chance of dropping for people nearer to the top and also more likely to drop for people with higher scores. Just like vanguard strikes I think iron banner matches should have a streak, the more matches you play the more likely to get better loot. (last until orbit) [u]reward packages[/u] When you reach rank 5 of iron banner their should be a reward package which has a guaranteed legendary armour or weapon drop, motes of light and strange coins. Also a chance to get an iron banner legendary (even the chance of the ship). Also every time you rank up at iron banner, you should get a package, with guaranteed: -weapon parts X50 -either spinmetal/relic iron/helium filaments/spirit bloom/hedium flakes X20 -motes of light X5 -strange coins X5 [u]the lag![/u] Not much I can say about this, however I'm sure everyone would agree it needs fixing! [u]fireteams[/u] Large fire teams should be matched with other large fireteams. [u]IB gear light level[/u] Vendor iron banner gear should start at 290 light not 280. [u]level advantages[/u] People below the minimum light level should have a severe disadvantage to those above it. Also weapons below the minimum light level should also be at a severe disadvantage, just saw a post about nlb only doing 20 less damage in iron banner, still enough for a 1 headshot kill and 2 body shots. This needs to be fixed! And minimum light level should be [b]raised[/b] from [b]230[/b] to [b]260[/b] This is an endgame activity not a normal crucible game mode. [i]damge curve: credit to: cptsubtext[/i] [spoiler]There should be a much more harsh damage curve for light level. I'd say 1% per 2 levels of light. So someone at 300 would take 10% less from and deal 10% more to someone at 280. This would ensure the everyone at the proposed 260 minimum would still stand a chance, but have a much harder time, as they'd deal 25% less to someone at 310. But then it would still be possible for them to do well if they were very good.[/spoiler] [u]rage quitters[/u] Should get a 15 minute timeout for quitting. [spoiler]thanks to XxmaDjesteRXx for suggesting this! [/spoiler] Also another thing could be if you quit you get a buff which on your next iron banner gamesyou earn no reputation and have no rewards. Buff removed after first victory after buff applied. [u]Latency matchmaking[/u] For those who don't know, is matchmaking based on connection, I.e. a person with good connection will be matched with people with good connections. [u]zones[/u] [spoiler]credit to Stephan4000[/spoiler] Controlling a zone should generate points every second in order to make iron banner less of a tdm type gamemode. 1 zone- 10 points per second 2 zones- 20 points per second 3 zones- 30 points per second Also keeping the control bonus you get after a kill. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please put your ideas below and I will put them here, we need bungie to hear our ideas and make iron banner a fun event not a depressing one!

    • Simple Fix for the fireteam. If you're in a fireteam, you go up against other fireteams. Personally I'd like to see other game modes too, one Iron Banner could be Control, the next Clash and then Rift maybe.

      • So funny. Started on day 1 of IB with my Titan and went to rank 5 with a few decent drops but no pulse rifle so I bought it at rank 5. Today played my first game of IB with my hunter and very first gsme the pulse drops. Immediately went to orbit. All done now.

        • I level all my characters to rep 5....just to realize "what's the point?" At least the HoW IB you did it for that etheric light...what a crummy emblem or a pulse rifle...definite waste of time

              • Agreed, Hunters fixed Titans limited to four hammers max and less armour. Nerf pulse rifles Dedicated servers to combat lag. Stop dropping people into games that teams are already 3000 points behind.

                • I agree with everything in this post except for the 3 person fire team limit. I think people shouldn't be limited to 3 in a fire team, but if you do have 4-6 people in a fire team, you should get matched with other teams of 4-6.

                    • Bounties should be based on playing control. I.e. -Capture 10 zones -Kill 10 opposing players while you control 2 zones. -get a B-Line medal 3 Times Things like that. All these bounties promote clash like gameplay and take away from players trying to capture zones which Is essential to victory.

                    • The rewards part is stupid. I play with my buddies and they are higher scorers 75% of the time. So basically I can't play with my friends? It should be more like if a team wins it gets a boost and winning streaks increase chance. That way it gives incentive to play the objective versus just playing for kills.

                    • Your post is just as bad as the stuff bungie does. Actually it's worse. You have all of these things but have not considered what even one of them would do to all the others. For example if latency is improved you would have far fewer rage quits. As far as rewarding the better players. I know for a fact latency is a huge part of how good or bad I do. If I'm in first place or last place a lot of it has to do with game timing. So just one change could affect every other area. You need to start with one idea and then see how it plays out. Not change 20 things and wait for the fallout

                    • Plus sell more than one gear at a time, and have a chance of dropping all gear. Since IB is only once a month thing, at this rate it will take 4 months to complete the whole set of gear.

                      • I don't think they should limit fireteams, since Crucible and Raids are the only activities where that unfortunate fourth friend doesn't have to get left out due to space. Rather, I think they should match fireteams against each other when possible instead of against solo players.

                        Matchmaking is awful. From getting dropped into losing games with only 3 other teammates and a 5000 score deficit, to getting paired up against a team of 6 4 times in a row when you are running solo, it's ridiculously bad. And then if it is a fair match up, 40% of the time I find that all my teammates are playing like its their first game of crucible, and one inevitably leaves when the other team is half decent and wrecking us, making the experience that much worse. How did bungie, the creators of halo make this terribad matchmaking system? It's so frustrating and makes playing IB solo a nightmare.

                          • make it so that the control zones generate points per second as well as kills giving points bonus depending on how many you have, e.g. you control 1 zone you get 10 points per sec you control 2 zones you get 20 points per sec you control all three points you get 30 points per sec as well as the multiplier you get for killing players with zones under control it just makes controlling the zones more important because atm iron banner might as well be team death match

                              It needs to have the normal crucible legendary weapons dropping aswell like the h.o.w. ib's. Such a low drop rate isn't fun it just puts you off playing it.

                            • I like the idea of lvl 5 packages with a weapon/armor that drops with a higher light level. You should lose rep for quitting a match. I played solo threw all this iron banner, yes I had some really bad starts. But a hardly quit just collected my token and moved on.
