This "wait til armsday" BS had got to stop
When you work your butt off to complete a quest and then go to hand it in for the pay off you don't expect your hard work to be rewarded with a big blam you. Using false time constraints has got to be the laziest way of extending gameplay.
Unrelated topic: congratulations on making it practically impossible to Max out the light levels without having 3 of the same guardian type. Blam-ing genius.
Edit: a lot of great points raised, most of which i agree with. My salt is with the mechanic itself, getting a door slammed in your face mid quest creates frustration not anticipation. There are better ways of doing it imho

Lol, I stopped reading after I read "work your butt off." I soloed everything (except for the warsats) in under and hour. The first strike was a joke. They could've at least been yellow bars. The second was just as easy as the first. They should've added ads into the mix with the wizards.

If everyone is trickling in one at a time as they hit the hard stage, hunting for that one extra person to finish a tough AF strike is ridiculous.

Max light without 3 of same character? You can use all armor to upgrade all armor...not class specific.

4 RepliesIt's not "extending" play time. They are stopping you from playing actually. And you can go do other stuff in the game. You don't have to wait on just that quest to continue.

except mr OP, you can have a high level character transfer some of his gear over and infuse it to your other characters gear, got my hunter to 280 in 30 mins

"Extending gameplay" what, waiting a few days? If they really wanted to extend gameplay, they'd make it so you had to play every day. Ain't nothing stopping you from not playing Destiny until armsday

You'll get your payoff in due time. And secondly, time, day/night, week, and year exist in the game world as well.

If you're on a forum surely you would have some idea on what the quest entails not to mention the ENTIRE games based on timers. If you havent got the patience for that you certainly dont deserve max level, that's reserved for people that put in time and effort. Oh and pro tip. Absolutely zero benefits from being over 300. None.

Waiting for special weapons as part of a weekly reset is an old MMO tactic. Way to be 15 years behind a gaming trend.

I don't mind it to an extent, it fits into the quest-lines reasonably for the most part Though I have to admit, when I found out today that I'd have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks (2 armsdays) to finish The First Curse Exotic Questline... Yeah I was fairly irritated.
