So How Does Three of Coins ACTUALLY Work Now??
I've heard SO many theories based on what Bungie has said, based on experiences, etc. and it seems there's no definitive answer on how Three of Coins [i]actually[/i] works; only a bunch of people guessing. Some say the coins stack now, so use them all at once before an ultra, and some say only use one before fighting an ultra, as they stack overtime. Does anyone know how they [i]actually[/i] work? I would rather not waste strange coins on them if I don't have to. Thanks for any help...

Deejs patch note post says that it's just one at a time, I've never done multiple and there starting to get better for me as time goes by

Everyone I know does it one at a time and generally has a better chance at exotics with some time between kills. For example I pop one well in advance of a kill, after the kill I pop another and put about 5-10 minutes of game before killing another.

Just use one at a time you should get somewhere around 1 engram every 5-7 coins mate

I always pop one before I kill the boss. The other day on the brothers Strike, After we killed one brother I popped another 3of coins and the second brother dropped me an exotic Helmet engram.

Only use one three of coins per strike. Just make sure waiting 15 minutes before killing another ultra if you've just killed one before that. Yesterday night in two heroic strikes I used one three of coins in each and got two exotics.

I use one at a time then do strikes in a row to get the buff of a higher chance of exotic engram drop plus 1 three of coins per strike. Today I received 1 exotic helmet engram out of two coins used.

I think the guy who posted before me is right on the money. If you do not have the strange coins to back wasting so many three of coins it makes sense. I use only one and have a decent drop rate. I get maybe 3-7 daily. Of course many, if not most, are duplicates but that is a while different issue.

4 RepliesFrom what I understand, the Three of Coins stacks based on failures; if you don't get an exotic engram from the Ultra, then it stacks again, and will continue to do so until a defeated Ultra drops the engram. I don't believe that consuming more than one Three of Coins will increase the stack rate/ frequency, so I'd say it's best to save your extras.
