Stormtrance Warlocks give me headaches and burning eyes

I'm writing this to bring to attention a problem a small minority of people may be having. I had this lingering fear that the Warlock Stormcaller subclass would give me seizures because most flashing lights do. Even lightning does and I cannot look at it or fireworks. This didn't happen, however, when I do get a face full of Stormtrance it does make my brain feel weird and feels like someone cracked a cold egg on the top of my head. By the end of the night I have burning eyes and feel mentally exhausted. Then I wake up with a headache right between the eyes and a wobbly feeling in my body. I'm not saying don't use the subclass - that's silly - and it looks really fun to use tbh. I'm a bit saddened I have to choose to not use it. But if Bungie are reading this I'm suggesting that if you have any quests in the future to not have completing kills in Crucible as a compulsory action. Because currently I'll be missing out on an exotic sword and I need that for more light. I can handle the Daily Crucible for marks but not much more than that. I really don't want to quit Destiny and so far in co-op Stormtrance doesn't affect me that much. I can always just turn my character away when someone uses that super anyway. In Crucible though is where I don't know how to avoid it. That's basically all I wanted to say. You can call me a cry baby or respond with images of flashing backgrounds or laugh at me or whatever this supportive community does. Bumping will at least let Bungie have every opportunity to look at this. EDIT: Sorry for the late replies. It took me much longer to work out how to view all the replies. Sometimes my brain works alright, sometimes it doesn't. I always get nervous about reading replies too. I'll look into changing my video/colour settings. Xbox One graphics are actually quite dark and I've turned my brightness way down. It's really the white flashing that gets to me. Right now I'm just running as soon as I hear the stormtrance super although sometimes I stupidly take them on. I wish I could turn the flashing off. I still love and really want to keep on playing Destiny. For those who didn't read my reply to someone here explaining the reason why I'll paste it here: Let me tell you a little story about how playing Destiny became so important to me. I have autism, high functioning and I've always had social anxiety while playing against someone else online. I bought Destiny to help ease me into the multiplayer world. At first I was nervous even performing actions in front of the other players, but then I started just watching them and copying them. Then I got to the point where I needed to get my own Fireteams together. I was nervous, shaky-voiced even hating every word that came out of my mouth but overtime I settled, talked calmly and friendly, didn't mind being made fun of and even joked around with people. It wasn't just that my social anxiety eased but that my ability to work well within a team increased. So, that's why I'm still playing Destiny. It's basically taught me skills that an occupational therapist at $3000 a session (or however they do payment) could maybe help me achieve. Also, my ADHD makes me prefer shooters because I don't have to strain this brain that much and it doesn't like to be strained. It likes instant rewards and chocolate. Also, my new best friends play Destiny. We're all in the same clan and talk to each other everyday on Kik chat. I don't really have any friends of my own in my hometown. Never really have. I'm closer to my favourite guitarist than I am my neighbour. So without Destiny I wouldn't have those guys and girls. I'd even still struggle to fit into the gaming community.

  • They should add a seizure prevention feature that makes the lightning a less intense color, possibly even black tbh.

    • Sorry that you have that problem, but if it really becomes an issue, I suggest putting down Destiny and moving to something more calm.

    • If you play in the year one playlists you're unlikely to meet a storm caller and you can get those kills for your sword

      • I get vertigo and hot-flashes from Taken mobs. I noticed this while on Patrol the week b4 TTK released and it was bad enough for me to not buy TTK as a result. I got the same sensations on certain levels/maps in Halo 3, but haven't experienced this w/ later versions or other games. Seems situational for me, but the hazy screen and bright flashes when the Taken spawn is simply too overwhelming :/

        • I honestly don't know but would changing the color of the light help? Might be worth changing your color scheme.

          • Well I never really felt any guilt using warlock supers until now.

            • Umm not sure why you're playing a shooter game then where they just recently made all lighting effects more vibrant, or just shooters in general
b8 or nah
• Not really sure how other games have handled that, but it is a fairly serious problem that should really be dealt with. I imagine there must be a way to make an option that removes the flashing of Stormtrance while still having it be visible, it'd be a wonderful thing for them to implement. Out of curiosity, have you tried playing with the other video settings? I know they have a bunch of colour blind modes, they might have something else in there that could help. Haven't really looked at the settings much so I don't really know. Until then I guess just run away from enemies once you hear a stormtrance activate. Not a very good solution but all the same.

                • Yeah, Stormtrance could definitely send you into a seizure. The light flashes in a weird, tippy fashion. At least it doesn't alternate between complementary colors.

                • Isn't there an option for that?
