A Letter to Bungie: I have a request

Dear Bungie, I am Rin, a very new player. I am not fond of shooters and I thought I never would be. That is, until I found your game. It has eaten my life to where I'm skipping out on memorizing monologues for my acting class to stalling on completing my world literature homework. Though, let's be honest, who really enjoys that college life? That aside, I would like to thank you for introducing me to a brand new world I shunned in the past. I've learned many new things while playing this game as well as met some awesome people. HOWEVER... I'm a bit displeased. I was told by my boyfriend that the previous content (such as Crota's raid, The Vault of Glass, etc.) was not worth doing because most of the "loot" obtained in the content would be useless against what's in the current version of the game. I find this troubling because by the time a player is able to do the raid missions with friends, they're either at a point where they could simply get better "loot" doing the new content, or it's just too easy for them and is no longer much of a challenge (especially since most of the players now, are more focused on the new content so not many people would want to partake in some of the old content when nothing worthwhile will come from it). I understand that the "Veterans" of the game, those who have been around for year 1, have been running these missions and raids incessantly. Yet, what of the new players? It feels like a slap on the wrist for being late, to me. As if you guys are saying,"We don't care if you didn't have the money for the PS4 or the game a year ago, you're late and we don't care". You have every right to say and act accordingly on that, seeing as you guys did make the game. I am but a simple girl who loves her games after all, who am I to tell you how to do you what to do? I only ask that, maybe sometime soon, you could give back a little what you took. I enjoy working hard for the "loot" that I have received, and I very much enjoy spending time with the people I've come to know and love. I do find it, however, exceptionally frustrating when I work very hard but have nothing to show for it. Again, I thank you deeply for being my first shooter. I can't express how awesome it is to play this game. I hope there aren't any hard feelings. Sincerely, Rin, a female gamer
