I'm seeing overwhelming dislike for Nolan North's Ghost, and yet various news outlets seem to be making the assertion that it's a positive change. I have yet to encounter a single person who actually likes the change, but Kotaku and others have already dubbed North's Ghost as a significant improvement to Dinklage's.
Nolan North is not a bad voice actor, some would argue that he is the best video game voice actor, but his voice does not fit as the Ghost. I'm sure that with time we'll all get used to it and get over it, and eventually forget about Dinklebot, but in my opinion, to say that North's Ghost is better than Dinklebot is absurd. North makes the Ghost sound silly, flamboyant, and over acted. When he says "Guardian down!", he almost sounds as if he's excited that your teammate died. I'm not looking for my guide through the game to be Claptrap. Overall, this is one change I'm not excited about, in a list of changes that I love.
Many of us didn't like Dinklebot at first, but he grew on us and really became the voice of Destiny. The same will probably be the case for North, but the change is bittersweet. It's like the loss of a friend who's been with us for countless hours of the past year.
If anyone thinks otherwise, please share your opinions.
