Burnout and disappointment, why the player base is leaving

Everytime a player puts 1-3 hours into a game, they expect something for their time. But to get nothing after completion (skolas hard mode, lvl 35 poe) or the same weapons they already have, it is such a let down. We've spent hours grinding the same raids, over and over, hoping for that one weapon to drop, only to be disappointed by RNG again. Example : paetorian foil, odds of dropping based on user data : 2-6%. 50+ completions of vault of glass, and still no drop. No one should have to do the same thing more than 20 times to get a reward. Especially when it takes 1-2 hours of their precious, limited free time. We have jobs, kids, responsibilities. Eventually we get fed up and say "Destiny? Nah, not worth it. There's more rewarding ways to spend my free time. There are other games that respect our time. " Bungie heavily relies on the same principles that keep gamblers gambling : you never know when you'll win, but if you keep putting in money, keep pulling that lever on the slot machine, you'll get something cool eventually... right? Bungie should know that every time a player gets nothing, they're a little less likely to want to put in the time and try again. Especially on top of all this, Bungie now says we can't bring our year 1 weapons, that we've ground so hard for, into year 2 and beyond. Why bother grinding for the year 2 weapons? They're not going to let us use them in year 3. It's at this point clear why Destiny is designed this way. Bungie doesn't care about your time. Bungie has built an endless treadmill so you keep buying the same product over and over again. Sure, the special effects and noises of the guns change slightly, as do the targets, but is there a story? Do you feel any connection to your character? Nope. That's why players are leaving. When we realize our time isn't respected, we simply say "Destiny? Nah, not worth the grind. "
