Destiny Saved my life

12 years ago I was diagnosed with severe PTSD by the US Navy and sent packing. Sine then I have been in continuous treatment with the Veterans Affairs Hospitals with very little to show for it. They shoved pills down my throat and sent me to countless hours of therapy that did very little for me, (sometimes made me worse). I was always told to stay away from first person shooting games such as Call of Duty and the like because it would make my symptoms worse than they already were so I listened and stayed away. A few days after Christmas my Wife bought me an XBOX ONE but accidentally forgot to purchase a game. I had to have something to try it out with so I went to the closest Red Box and the only game that was available was this game called destiny. Because it was a first person shooter I almost went home empty handed but ended up renting it anyway because I wanted to play with my new toy. To say the least I fell in love with the game and bought my own copy three days later. Since then I have logged in over 1000 hours and have made some very good friends and acquaintances that I play with often. Playing destiny has become a therapy for me because it allows me to leave this world behind and travel to a fictional world where I can do anything that I want to and for a short period of time forget the horrors that plague my thoughts every single day. Since my first time logging into destiny I have went from taking 8 different medications and seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist weekly to taking only 3 medication and seeing my doctors every couple of weeks. They are not able to tell me why my symptoms have gotten better while I play but they agree that my time in the world of destiny has worked miracles for me. I want to say thank you to everyone at Bungie especially the ones that work so hard on destiny everyday to allow me to play. I also want to thank all the guardians that have went into battle beside me and against me because I have found a comraderie that I haven't had since my time in the military. DESTINY HAS SAVED MY LIFE AND I AM GRATEFUL. THE ONLY REGRET THAT I HAVE IS THAT I CANT SAY THANK YOU IN PERSON TO EACH AND EVERY ONE THAT HAS MADE THIS IMPACT ON MY LIFE. THANK YOU DOC HUNT75
