Can you transfer gear between destiny and the taken king?
I was playing destiny and heard that you could store gear in the vault in destiny, and it would be in the taken king's vault. Is that true?

TTK is a DLC for destiny. It is not a separate game. Your gear and character are available throughout the whole destiny experience. The stuff in your vault can be swapped from character to character as well. If you have a gun you want to use on character a but it is on character b. Put it in the vault then grab it with Character A. Vault space is getting an increase when TTK comes out pretty much doubling it.

Any gear you have now will still be available to you for TTK any any future expansion. It doesn't matter whether you have it on your character or in the vault.
