A Lesson About Shoulder Charge: Not OP!

SHOULDER CHARGE IS NOT OVERPOWERED!! If you would like to continue on, I will explain why shoulder charge is indeed balanced. It just baffles me that so many ignorant players seem to accuse shoulder charge of being OP; however, in reality, this ability is nowhere near as effective as people make it out to be. Honestly, the controversy over shoulder charge is tiring and unnecessary, and I'm here to tell you why. So, take out your notebooks, and let the lesson begin! First off, I've seen countless posts of players who call for a nerf, and their reasoning is completely absurd. These players make use of a logical fallacy, which is when an established premise or two may be true, but the conclusion drawn from these are far from the truth. An example of this would be: Premise 1: A guy loves carrots. Premise 2: Rabbits love carrots. Conclusion: The guy is a rabbit. See, this conclusion is obviously incorrect, but the premises were true. Now let's equate this to destiny: Premise 1: An opponent is using shoulder charge. Premise 2: The opponent continuously beats me with shoulder charge. Conclusion: Shoulder charge is OP. You see the flawed logic here? Just because someone can beat you with what they are using continuously doesn't mean what he or she is using is OP. It usually means one of two things: 1. You suck 2. Your opponent rocks So just accept the fact that you lost, or DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Don't just keep standing straight up, oblivious to the charging Titan running straight at you! If a Titan has enough time to run at you and get shoulder charge to activate, they flat out beat you. The time to kill for most weapons in destiny is around 3 seconds, and guess how long it takes for shoulder charge to charge up? Around 3 seconds!
But Mr. Guardian, what if a Titan just panic shoulder charges me? That's unfair right?
Nope, because guess what? Something magical, called a shotgun would have done the same thing! Which brings me to my next point. Shoulder charge is no more effective, if not less effective compared to shotguns, and here's why. A shotgun has about the same range as shoulder charge, but shoulder charge requires 3 seconds of initial sprinting before it can be used. Think about it this way: shoulder charge is like a fusion rifle; it requires a charge up before use, and many times, players will charge a fusion rifle before turning a corner. Similarly, Striker Titans sprint to ready shoulder charge before turning a corner. When you think of it like a fusion rifle it doesn't seem OP right? Because fusion rifles aren't OP. But people don't see it this way, people don't think of the initial running required to activate shoulder charge. Instead, players just see the OHK and immediately scream OP. So please guardians, quit being ignorant about what actually goes into using shoulder charge. Next time a Titan is spamming shoulder charge on you, think of what I taught you today... Pull out a shotgun! Because 9 times out of 10, a shotgun will beat a shoulder charge! Class dismissed!!

 • Sure, shoulder charge is circumstantial but, in the right circumstance, the victim has no hope of escaping or fighting back. Therefore, I do believe it is OP in that there is no way to counter it if the right circumstances are met. Personally, I believe the best way to balance this is to have a cooldown or even a cooldown for it to do full damage.
I can write long-winded opinion posts too.
