What level will I be in year two without light levels
With my gear I am a level 34. In year two what level will I become. Will I start at level twenty? Will I have to grind to level 40.... what incentive do I have to play house of wolves, prisoner of elders and the raids? I won't be able to ascend gear.... please give me some clarity......

Am I the only one who thinks having to level twenty more levels would actually be fun and refreshing rather than just stacking light levels?

3 RepliesIt's already been confirmed by DeeJ and IGN the if you're lvl34, you'll be lvl34 at launch.

It's been confirmed by ING and other sources that if your a level 34 that's where you progress from its when you start a new character is when you start from 1. I was like WTF going back to 20 when my Titan has ranked up 197 times after the original 20 cap is bullshit!!

4 RepliesYes the original post with regards to the new xp based system said that "the flow from 34 was seamless" which imo means if you finished HoW as a 34 you start TTK as a 34 and rank up from there, if you are a 30-32 you start there which gives people an incentive to do PoE etc for etheric light because no doubt the grind per level now from an xp standpoint will be monstrous.

it will be 20.. why would bungie take the chance of someone not having a specific piece of gear on one of their characters and that someone missing a change to hit 34? As of now, technically, everyone who is at end game is level 20. The levels change depending on the gear you have. Since that's going away everyone will begin TTK at 20(which if you think about it is where all current LEG/EXOTIC gear level requirements are at anyway) and we will level up from there. I like it. We have 20 more levels to play through and enjoy Destiny before even getting to the end game stuff to enjoy.

Edited by Silverfish: 8/6/2015 8:55:07 PMI'm guessing Level 30 - in the IGN video they had new preview gameplay of the first story mission in TTK on Phobos. The entire fire team was Level 30. Could be coincidental, but I'm sticking to that story!

9 RepliesNobody but Bungie knows, yet. But my guess is that it will work like this: Bungie has been tracking how much experience we earn after reaching 20, and awarding us Motes of Light every time we level up. So they probably have data showing what level we would actually be, if Light Levels weren't a thing. Since most dedicated players have almost assuredly reached the equivalent of level 40 based on XP earned, I'm guessing Bungie will set anyone who is already at the XP requirement for 40 to level 35, so that we will still have to do some earning. Anyone under 34, according to XP totals will probably have their level lowered to match those totals and have to earn their way to 40. This is just my own speculation, and not based on anything other than pure guessing.

You'll start at 20, but you will get a single use item which will boost one of your characters to min level required to play ttk

You will start TTK at the same armored level you have now. LvL 34 with your armor now = LvL 34 in TTK. Confirmed in IGN's latest video with Deej.

Best guess is that everyone who has reached level 20 will start at level 20. They're getting rid of light levels, and anything after 20 is all light. I'm certain they'll do a little re-tooling of some missions to account for that, provided this guess ends up being right. Who knows, though?

Actually you are at the core a level 20 with a light level of 34 so since light level is going to behave differently you should start out as a 20

7 RepliesHonestly we don't know exactly! Some say lvl 20, other lvl 34. And my favourite is that u get to lvl 40 instantly because your prestige lvl is over 40. MIne are with Titan 206, Warlock 188 and HUnter 120! So with that standard i would get lvl 40! But don't know fo sure!

The new level cap is 40. You won't be able to use level 40 weapons/armor which will have the highest attack/armor available.
